TB Immigration Information Letter No. 004/24: Borderrun Chiang Khong (Fourth Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge) and Visa exemption
We drove to Chiang Khon on January 5, 2024 with our own transport from Chiang Mai, distance approx. 300 km one way. There is also a bus trip from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai and on to Chiang Khong
Can anyone give me more information about carrying out a border run via the Third Friendship Bridge in Nakhon Pathom? We are currently staying in Phuket and plan to travel to Udon Thani by plane, rent a car there, take a trip and do a border crossing at the same time. Or might it be easier to go to Vientiane via the First Friendship Bridge?
Thailand Visa question No. 256/23: Borderrun Ranong
Questioner: At the beginning of January we will be going to Thailand for a longer period of time and will have to make a visa run. A friend of mine from Chiangmai told me that many border points with Myanmar are closed, with the exception of Ranong. We are staying in and around Cha Am for a longer period of time and that would be a nice trip. Does anyone know more about using Ranong as a border point for a visa run? I know I also need a visa for 3…
Thailand Visa question No. 238/23: I asked a Non-immigrant O and have obtained a Tourist, what to do?
I had applied for a Non Immigrant O. But I got a Tourist TR visa. What can I do best? My stay is near Aranyaprathet.
I am in possession of a Non-Immigrant O e-visa (Multiple Entry), issued on September 21, 2023 with validity until September 20, 2024. Arrived in Thailand the next day on September 22, 2023. The stamp upon arrival from Immigration stated on my passport allows a stay of 90 days, so until December 20, 2023. I have been retired since last year and want to spend the winter in Thailand. The intention is to extend my visa by 90 days before December 20. That's my info. Please answer my next two questions.

We have a retirement visa that expires on February 7. This normally ran from September 1 to September 1, but due to Covid this has been postponed. Now I don't feel like applying for this visa in Thailand (I don't have 800.000 THB in the bank) with an income statement.

2. If yes, how many are there and does that number cover a calendar year?
Back in the Netherlands I can give you an update on a border run from Surin to Cambodia. The shortest route is now via Chong Chom, which border crossing opened again in the middle of last year. The distance from Surin is approximately 65 km. The costs: if you only want to stay in Cambodia for a few hours, the costs for a visa are 2800 Thai baht. If you stay in Cambodia for at least 24 hours (so you spend money in Cambodia for at least one overnight stay), the costs for a visa are 2000 Thai baht.

If you have made a border/Visarun with, for example, Bangkok Buddy, you can request an extension at the immigration office at IT square, Lak SI. So you don't have to go to Cambodia again. I have attached a screenshot.
Thailand Visa question 49/23: How many times can I do a border run?
I've asked this question before but got no answer. My girlfriend lives in Kalasin and my visa was about to expire. So we decided to go to Mugdahan for a border run. So I got another visa exemption for 45 days. I could have this visa extended by 45 days after 30 days.
Thailand Visa question 48/23: Can I extend my stay in Bangkok?
I arrived in BKK in September with a 2 months e-visa, then extended for 30 days in Lak Si. Made a border run to Malaysia and then with Bangkok Buddy (great service) to Cambodia (visa until March 15).
Thailand Visa Question No. 036/23: Borderrun Cambodia
We are going to do a Borderrun to Cambodia on Monday, is a passport enough to take with you? It is the first time. Have hired a taxi ourselves, and do it in 1 day.
Thailand Visa question No. 020/23: Is the border post at Ranong open again for borderrun?
Next week we have to make a visa trip. In the past we always went to Andaman club in Ranong. All borders are closed due to the unrest in Myanmar. Recently I read that there would be talks about reopening the borders. However, I never read that that happened again.
