On request a brief overview of what you need to take into account if you want to enter one of Thailand's neighboring countries. I deliberately keep it limited and more information about the details can be found in the attached link of the country. In the deep south of Thailand, the Malay-speaking Nayu struggle with discrimination and misunderstanding. Despite shared dreams and ambitions, such as good education and a safe future, they are often treated as second-class citizens. Six Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand, Laos and Malaysia, are considering introducing a joint tourist visa, similar to the Schengen visa. We have lived in Thailand with my son for over 5 years and regularly suffer from respiratory problems. In the Netherlands and on holiday in Malaysia we had no problems and did not have to use nasal spray, nasal rinse water and allergy tablets. The IQ air meter shows that the air quality in NL/Malaysia is light to dark green almost all year round, while in Thailand it is orange-red almost all year round (green is 0-50, red is 150-200). Now we are considering immigrating to Malaysia, partly because my son wants to do IT work in Malaysia or Singapore.

We would like to make a trip from Thailand to the Perhential Islands in Malaysia. The plan is to take the night train to Sungai Kolok, to cross the border there. Does anyone have experience with this border post? I can't find any information about the conditions there. It is recommended to take a motorbike taxi to immigration from the train station, but we travel with our luggage. Motorbike is therefore not an option.

My wife and I have hardly taken a vacation since Covid. That's why we thought it would be a nice idea, now that traveling has become easier again, to go to Malaysia. Because I am a Virtual Reality fan and the Pico4 (a new headset) can be obtained for almost half the price that is asked in Thailand, I decided to get it there and therefore combine it with a few days of delay in Kuala Lumpur .
