Thailand Visa Question No. 005/25: Non-immigrant O visa, one year extension and re-entry
I have a visa Immigrant Non O for many years. Now I have a new passport with the transfer of my visa, since my new passport has been given a different year extension for me, my question is what is needed if I am back in Thailand too late?
Thailand Visa Question No. 001/25: Extending Non-O Stay and Departing on Visa Exemption
How many days can you extend a non-immigrant O at immigration? Why doesn't KLM let passengers board to Thailand without a visa now that you can get 60 days on a visa exemption and a visa is therefore no longer necessary?
Thailand Visa Question No. 229/24: What about the 800.000 Baht if you are not in Thailand?
As a Non-O visa holder, I always keep 800.000 baht in my Thai bank account, even though this amount may be reduced to 400.000 baht after a while. But what happens if I temporarily leave Thailand? Does this requirement of 800.000 baht also apply when I am not in the country, or can the amount be lower until my return? Who has experience with this?
Thailand Visa Question No. 228/24: Visa and Marriage
I am Alain, a 65 year old Belgian, and I want to move to Thailand to marry my girlfriend. I have a residence permit for two months and am trying to arrange a NON-O visa. At the Immigration Office in Phrae I was advised to go to the Thai Embassy in Laos. Is it normal that I cannot open a Thai bank account without a NON-O visa? Are there any steps I am missing?
I had applied for an O retirement visa at the Thai Embassy in the Netherlands. This was partly due to advice from Ronny, for which I am grateful. This application took 10 days, is this always the case?
As previously stated, we want to emigrate to Thailand in the middle of next year. I want to apply for my retirement visa according to the conditions O2. There are 4 conditions mentioned in the information from the embassy.
Thailand Visa Question No. 207/24: Apply for Non-Immigrant O
I am in the process of applying for my Non O-immigrant retirement visa from the Netherlands. Now I come to the question about a Thai bank account: when do you have to apply for this? I assume that I cannot open a Thai bank account from the Netherlands. 800.000 baht is no problem.
I (76 years old) married my Thai wife in Bangkok on 25/01/24 and we want to live in Pattaya. Can I live in Pattaya for 60 days without a Visa and then apply for a Visa for 1 year and renew it annually. Is it a Non immigrant O Visa that I can apply for in Thailand and a bank account Thailand?
I am going to Thailand from 28 March to 30 April. I want to open an account there. I have read that I need a Non immigrant O visa for that. Can I also get this if I am not retired?
I want to apply for Non-Immigrant “O” marriage. If I look at the requested documents that need to be submitted it is proof of ID and proof of relationship (marriage certificate). But one should also submit an invitation letter and proof of residence but that is not requested.
TB Immigration Infobrief No. 052/24: Immigration Samut Prakan – Convert Tourist Stay to Non-immigrant – Legalized Visa Support Letter
On October 18, 2024, I went to immigration in Samut Prakan to have my tourist visa changed to a Non-Immigrant O visa (double entry). I had a visa support letter that was issued on October 11, 2024. Unfortunately, this was not enough. I had to have the letter legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Thailand Visa question No. 182/24: Non-immigrant OA – Foreign Insurance Certificate
My question to the forum: who also had to submit the Foreign Insurance Certificate form via eVisa, or how did you get a non-immigrant OA visa without this form?
Thailand Visa Question No. 180/24: Extending a stay period obtained with a Non-immigrant O
I have a question for Ronnie, following a similar question on the blog about the Non immigrant O visa (I submitted the question yesterday for the website). I am going to Thailand from the end of October for 149 days. Now when applying for a new visa on thaievisa.go.th (via 'apply for a new visa' ) the options have changed compared to last year.
Thailand Visa Question No. 177/24: Is only a Non-immigrant O Single entry available and renewal of driving license
In the past I have applied for a Non-immigrant O visa twice, I only needed this for my driving licenses and a bank account in Thailand. We are not staying in Thailand for more than 60 days. Now we are going back to our house in Thailand for Christmas and I have to renew my driving licenses so I will need a Cert of Residence again, so I will need the 90 day visa again.
I am going to Thailand and we are leaving on November 11th and coming back on March 11th, so a total of 113 days. So I would like to ask Ronny with a 90 day visa. Can I extend this by means of a 30 day visa exemption? This seems more attractive to me than a border run.
I will be leaving Schiphol on December 10, 2024 to Bangkok to stay with my wife in Kanchanaburi. My stay will last until April 5, 2025 (116 days). I have always had a Non-Immigrant O visa for pensioners (we got married in the Netherlands in 2013 and have registered marriage documents).
We, my husband and I are going on holiday to Thailand for 83 days (overwintering) and this has already been booked. I hope that in retrospect we were not naive about a visa application. We are both 65+ and cannot decide what kind of visa we should apply for. I have searched your site and read so much and it is becoming more and more confusing.
Thailand Visa question No. 150/24: Can the combination of Non-immigrant O and Visa exemption?
We are going to Thailand for ±5 months. We now have an O multiple visa and it is valid until October 10, 10. If we arrive in Thailand before October 2024, 10, I think we will still get 10 days and can we then make a border run after 2024 days to obtain another 90 days and possibly extend it by 89 days at immigration?
Thailand Visa question No. 147/24: Non-immigrant O Retired – Extension of period of stay
I have a question about a Non-immigrant O Retirement visa. I want to go to Thailand for 5 months (151 days). Is it true that you can extend a Non-immigrant O Retirement visa multiple times for 30 days? So in my case I extend it by 2 x 30 days to reach the necessary 151 days. Or do you have to leave the country after the first 1 days? Or is there perhaps another visa that you can recommend to me to stay in Thailand for a longer period of time.
Thailand Visa question No. 143/24: Can I extend my Non-immigrant O Thai Marriage visa for 30 days?
The visa exemption period has now been extended to 60 days. I did have our marriage registered in the Netherlands at the local “Ampur”, but the question is whether it is all still registered! If all this is still registered, I can obtain an extension of the period of stay on the basis of a “Visa exemption” of 60 days. If not, then 30 days. I'm a few days short.
Thailand Visa question No. 142/24: Non-immigrant O applications and return is later than 90 days
I am going to Thailand from November 7 to April 17 (161 days) and will stay there at my girlfriend's house. For this I want to apply for a Non-Immigrant O visa and then later apply for a one-year extension in Thailand.
Thailand Visa question No. 138/24: 150 days to Thailand on a combination of Non-immigrant O and Visa exemption
Just a quick question. I'm going to Thailand for 150 days: 14-10-2024 to 12-03-2025
