Six tourists have already died from poisoned alcohol in Laos
Two Australian teenagers have died after drinking methanol-laced alcohol in the popular tourist resort of Vang Vieng. The tragedy is part of a series of deaths among international travellers. Local authorities have intervened, but illegal alcohol production remains a major risk in Laos. Travellers are being warned to be extra vigilant about what they eat and drink.
My girlfriend and I are planning a 10-day tour of Laos at the end of November, with stops in Vientiane, Meuang Feuang, Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang. We are looking for advice on the best SIM card for internet, affordable accommodation in Vientiane and the possibility of using a rental car. We are also curious about the safety and facilities along the route.
TB Immigration Infobrief No. 048/24: Travelling to Thailand's border countries (Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Myanmar)
On request a brief overview of what you need to take into account if you want to enter one of Thailand's neighboring countries. I deliberately keep it limited and more information about the details can be found in the attached link of the country. The most important thing is that since this year some countries have introduced an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization).
Six Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand, Laos and Malaysia, are considering introducing a joint tourist visa, similar to the Schengen visa. This visa should facilitate travel between the participating countries and attract tourists. The initiative would lead to a stronger tourism sector and boost the economy, while making the region more attractive to international visitors.
To extend my visa, I have to leave Thailand after 60 days. Now I want to go to a neighboring country for about 5 days with my Thai girlfriend. But which is more fun to visit, Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam?
In the coming months, the Dutch embassy will offer the opportunity to apply for a Dutch passport or identity card, have your life certificate signed and/or receive a DigiD activation code at six different locations in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. Does anyone have experience traveling from Thailand to and through Laos with a rented motorbike? Is it possible and are you insured if you rent a motorbike in Thailand and cross the border into Laos? Then travel around there for 2 weeks and then return the motorcycle to Thailand. Or do you have to rent a motorbike in Laos for this?

Book review: 'The Burma deception' by Roel Thijssen
The Burma Hoax is the sixth espionage novel in the Graham Marquand series and has its origins shortly before the end of World War II, when Thailand was secretly making overtures to the United States. In those last months, the 'Thailand route' was the only way for the Japanese rulers to bring war booty from the occupied territories to safety. American OSS agents manage to intercept one of those convoys and thus amass great wealth
Seven weeks of Thai art of living and a trip to Laos: between tradition and adventure (reader's submission)
From the serene tranquility on the balustrade of our home in Ban Wang Khong Daeng to the lively streets of Bangkok and Chiang Mai, our seven-week trip through Thailand and a trip to Laos were a series of discoveries. Despite the concerned questions about possible jet lag, the time zone was the last thing on our minds. Our days were filled with exploring the rich culture, breathtaking landscapes and unique gastronomy of Southeast Asia. Between the hospitality in our restaurant, the activity in the gallery, and adding both new and antique treasures to our Thai home, we have embraced a pace of life that took us far from the daily grind. Our trip was a celebration of the art of living, guided by the principle that nothing is mandatory and everything is allowed.

Can anyone give me more information about carrying out a border run via the Third Friendship Bridge in Nakhon Pathom? We are currently staying in Phuket and plan to travel to Udon Thani by plane, rent a car there, take a trip and do a border crossing at the same time. Or might it be easier to go to Vientiane via the First Friendship Bridge?

The staff of the local immigration office has changed and it shows. Here's my story why. I left for the Netherlands in September last year while I was in possession of a wedding visa that had not yet expired. Just came back this year. Upon arrival at the airport I received a 45 day visa.

Thailand Visa question No. 009/23: Tourist visa – Stay longer by making a border run to Laos
My girlfriend and I have a Tourist TR visa of 60 days with January 26 as the last day. We first planned to extend our visa with the well-known 30 days, so that we would have enough time until our return flight on February 20.
My 30 day extension indicates January 16, 2023 as the last day. Does that mean I have to leave Thailand on January 16 or does it have to be 1 day earlier? If I want to do a border run by car to Laos, on which date should I re-enter Thailand? Are there any requirements to enter Laos or re-enter Thailand?
