In memoriam: Charly (Leo) – A passionate writer for Thailandblog
Former blogger Charly (Leo) passed away this year, as we learned from an attentive reader. From Udon Thani he wrote more than 80 blogs, often with a personal, idiosyncratic approach. His stories about Thai life and favorite places like Da Sofia restaurant continue to inspire us and remind us of his special view on life.

After all the excitement surrounding our April 1 joke, we'd like to take the opportunity to draw attention to the importance of discussing new technologies like ChatGPT. In this post, we'll take a closer look at the responses we've received, the revelation of the prank, and the opportunities AI is offering us. Let's start a dialogue together and think about the influence of AI on our lives and the future.
We have exciting news to share with you. After lengthy negotiations, we have decided to completely transfer the editorial staff of Thailandblog to ChatGPT, OpenAI's revolutionary language model!
Well now it's time. The denouement of this mystery. First of all, nice that some of you were so sporty and involved to participate. Despite the criticism of ChatGPT, many other readers apparently did not dare or see what is and is not written by AI and that is also remarkable. We will not leave you in suspense any longer. We have decided to consider text 4. not written by ChatGPT, although this is factually incorrect. Whence this reservation? We will now explain that.
The editors of Thailandblog have been using ChatGPT for some articles for some time now. Yesterday we posted a 'declaration of love to Thailand' on our blog that was written entirely by ChatGPT. Actually a test balloon to see what kind of reactions came to it. We understand that there is some concern about ChatGPT's presence on this platform and some of you are wondering if you are still dealing with real people on Thailandblog. We would like to explain that and emphasize that you do not have to worry.
