Cambodia, a nice trip from Thailand
Many of us only know Cambodia from the visa run, but Thailand's neighbor has much more to offer. Cambodia is developing rapidly. New roads are being built, apartment buildings are popping up like mushrooms and tourism is booming.

With the launch of AirAsia Cambodia and the introduction of three domestic routes, the airline is strengthening its regional network. The new subsidiary, which will launch with two Airbus A320s, will connect key Cambodian cities to the expanded AirAsia hub.

One of the men who risked their lives for the VOC was Hendrik Indijck. It is not clear when exactly he was born, but it is true: according to most historians, this happened around 1615 in Alkmaar. Indijck was a literate and adventurous man.

I will soon first go to Bali, then to Thailand on a visa exempt basis for 30 days, then to Cambodia for 30 days and then to Thailand for 2 to 3 months. For the 2nd time in Thailand (end of January) I need a visa, tourist visa 60 days with a possible extension of max. 30 days or a non-immigrant O visa.

For those who regularly visit Thailand and want to stay longer than a few months, the term “visa run” is well known. You leave the country to return immediately. Thailand has several neighboring countries where this is possible. And both Myanmar and Cambodia can be reached by bus from Bangkok. As a result, they may be much cheaper options than, say, a flight to Malaysia, for example.
Thailand question: By car through Cambodia?
At the end of this year I would like to drive through Cambodia and Laos by car. Anyone have experience with the roads and safety in Cambodia?
Back in the Netherlands I can give you an update on a border run from Surin to Cambodia. The shortest route is now via Chong Chom, which border crossing opened again in the middle of last year. The distance from Surin is approximately 65 km. The costs: if you only want to stay in Cambodia for a few hours, the costs for a visa are 2800 Thai baht. If you stay in Cambodia for at least 24 hours (so you spend money in Cambodia for at least one overnight stay), the costs for a visa are 2000 Thai baht.
We want to go to Cambodia from Bangkok/Pattaya for a few days next March, April and then to Siem Reap and to Pol Pot's grave.
Can anyone advise the best way to go there, we are 3 people?

The first Dutchman and one of the first Europeans to visit Laos extensively was the merchant Gerrit Van Wuysthoff or Geeraerd van Wuesthoff, during a mission set up by him for the Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie, the VOC in 1641-1642.

We are going to do a Borderrun to Cambodia on Monday, is a passport enough to take with you? It is the first time. Have hired a taxi ourselves, and do it in 1 day.
My 45-day tourist visa expires on January 22, I wanted to extend it with 45 days (immigration office Nakhon Rat), but this turned out not to be possible only with 30 days. My return flight is on March 8.

It's the little things…
The weather is still fantastic for the time of year, but I think, to avoid the approaching winter period, already at the beginning of next year. My mind also wanders to my very last trip to Thailand and Cambodia, barely a month and a half ago. Strange that small, often unimportant things often linger in your mind for a long time.
If you want to make a border run from Pattaya to Cambodia to obtain a new Visa Exemption period, you must first contact a Visa office. Preferable than the one they recommend in the article which happens to be located next to immigration.
