The monkeys of Lopburi (video)
Lopburi is the capital of the province of the same name in Thailand. It is located about 150 km north-east of Bangkok. You have to see it once: 10.000 wishing balloons going up in the air at the same time in Chiang Mai during the Loi Krathong (Yi Peng) Lantern Festival.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) invites tourists to experience the colorful and intriguing Bun Luang and Phi Ta Khon Festival, also known as the Ghost Festival. The festival will be held from July 1 to 3 in the Dan Sai district of the northeastern province of Loei.
The Royal Plowing Ceremony took place again yesterday and predicts a prosperous economy for 2022. The two sacred oxen chose water, grass and beans on Sanam Luang, indicating an abundance of water and food. They also drank liquor, which portends more robust international trade and a booming economy.
Bun Bang Fai Festival in Yasothon
In this period of the year, the population in the northeast of Thailand (the Isan) starts to move en masse to give the "rain god" a clear message. And it's a noisy, screaming and terrifying message too, because it happens with hundreds of handmade rockets, the "bon fai", that are sent into the sky from the still arid rice fields.

International Balloon Fiesta 2019 at Singha Park in Chiang Rai
It is a beautiful sight 30 hot air balloons that will take off from the Singha park in Chiang Rai. They participate in the 2019 Chiang Rai International Balloon Fiesta, one of the competitions held in Asean. The competition lasts a total of 4 days. Sunday is the last day.

This month, from 16 – 18 June 2018, the colorful Phi Ta Khon festival will take place in Dan Sai (Loei province). This traditional festival is one of the most popular in Thailand and is celebrated every year in the first week after the sixth full moon of the year.
Every May, about a month before rice planting begins, Thais on the empty plains of Isaan try to prove that building rockets doesn't require a degree in quantum physics.
Phi Ta Khon Festival
One of the most famous festivals in Thailand is undoubtedly the Phi Ta Khon festival in DanSai, a small town in Loei province not far from the border with Laos.
Anou Savari festival in Nong Khai
Once a year, the sleepy town of Nong Khai, in northern Thailand on the border with Laos, comes alive. That is when the annual Anou Savari Festival takes place, an event commemorating the victory over the "Ho" rebels from Yunnan, China.
Every year in Ubon Ratchathani, the beginning of the Khao Phansa (the Candle Festival), also known as Buddhist Lent, is celebrated. This is a three month period when the monks retreat to the temples to learn about Buddha's Enlightenment. This year, Khao Phansa Day is celebrated on July 28.
Countdown to 2018 at CentralWorld in Bangkok live on TV
