This week I received a letter from BNP (Fortis). Not to warn me that they would close my bank accounts in Belgium. It was stated in detail that the bank is obliged by the Belgian legislator to disclose certain information about each account holder.

I recently completed and sent my tax return, but again not without a struggle. When registering on Tax on web, my wife was not entered in the system, which meant that some (expensive) codes could not be entered.
After a number of blunders before the European Court of Justice, the Belgian government has finally succeeded in drawing up renewed tax rules for residents of the state abroad as of 2021, which can be expected to withstand the test of criticism.
