I want to apply for Non-Immigrant “O” marriage. If I look at the requested documents that need to be submitted it is proof of ID and proof of relationship (marriage certificate). But one should also submit an invitation letter and proof of residence but that is not requested.

I have always stayed in Thailand with a tourist visa of 60 days and an extension of 30 days. With the new visa exemption regulation I would also be able to stay 90 days, provided a 30-day extension via immigration. The visa exemption period has now been extended to 60 days. I did have our marriage registered in the Netherlands at the local “Ampur”, but the question is whether it is all still registered! If all this is still registered, I can obtain an extension of the period of stay on the basis of a “Visa exemption” of 60 days. If not, then 30 days. I'm a few days short.

I find the visa system in Thailand extremely complicated. Thanks to the people who keep explaining it, but I still find it difficult. Now I have met a very nice, sweet, beautiful Thai lady, and have visited her twice this year (in January on a 60 day tourist visa, because I stayed 33 days, and flew on to Australia). And in March (a month later, back from Australia) as a tourist (less than 30 days). So far so good.
