How many days can you extend a non-immigrant O at immigration? Why doesn't KLM let passengers board to Thailand without a visa now that you can get 60 days on a visa exemption and a visa is therefore no longer necessary?

Reporter: Marco I flew from Chiang Mai to Hong Kong last Saturday morning (outbound Air Asia/return Hong Kong Air). Returned the same day and I re-entered on Visa exemption. This was the second entry on Visa exemption. When checking in in Hong Kong, no questions were asked about transit. However, upon return I was called separately by immigration Chiang Mai for a check. The immigration service wanted to know how long I would be staying in Thailand, or 20000 …

Questioner: Alphonse I have been in Thailand for half a year for several years now. I used the METV = Multiple Entry Tourist Visa, because I usually visit 5 countries; but Bangkok is my base. With a few exceptions, I always return to Bangkok to take stock of everything and plan a new trip. In the meantime, the visa on arrival 60 days has arrived, but at the same time the METV conditions …

Questioner: Robert I am in Thailand on a 58 day visa exemption. Next Thursday (December 19th) is my flight home. But I am considering a 30 day extension (the love is too strong). I have two questions… 1. There is no TM30 filled in. Will I have any problems with immigration? 2. If not, where is the nearest office? I am in Bang Sai/Mai Tra, North of Pathum Thani and 40 km south of …

At immigration on Don Muang, two Dutch travelers were confronted by an official who nearly denied them entry, despite years of trouble-free travel with a visa-exempt. The incident, marked by heated debate and reluctance, raises questions about changed rules and experiences of others at the Thai border.

I want to share some information. I am staying in Thailand for more than 90 days and I do not have a tourist visa. I just checked in with Singapore Airlines and I was not asked any question about staying too long in Thailand.

Our intention is to leave Thailand once or twice for a stay of 8 to 10 days, for example to Cambodia or Laos. Do we have to do this before the 60 visa-free days have expired, or can we do this during the next 30 paid visa days, so within my 90 visa days?

After arriving in Thailand with a stamp for two months, the question remains whether an extension is feasible. A previous visa application failed due to missed communication about a bank statement. Now the question arises: extend again in December or go to Laos for a new stamp? A situation that continues to cause uncertainty.

Not a question, but a comment regarding the visa question about return tickets. I also keep doubting every time I book a one-way ticket. The last 20 tickets, half were about a one-way ticket and I was asked once to show a return ticket.

In November I will leave with EVA AIR to Thailand and stay there until February (total 89 days). I will then enter the country by means of a Visa exemption (60 days). Then I will stay one night in a hotel in BKK and fly the next day to the (purchased) home of my girlfriend in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

On request a brief overview of what you need to take into account if you want to enter one of Thailand's neighboring countries. I deliberately keep it limited and more information about the details can be found in the attached link of the country. The most important thing is that since this year some countries have introduced an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization).

We (couple 73 years old) are going to Thailand on 28-11-2024 for 84 days. Do we first have to apply for a visa in the Netherlands or can we, with the new visa regulation of 60 days upon entry Thailand, later buy an extension at the visa office in Cha-am?

I have always stayed in Thailand with a tourist visa of 60 days and an extension of 30 days. With the new visa exemption regulation I would also be able to stay 90 days, provided a 30-day extension via immigration. Now I have read that an extension is also possible on the basis of a Thai marriage with 60 days.

I want to go to Thailand for 180 days. Should I, as I always do, apply for a visa here or get a 60 day visa on arrival that I can then extend for 30 days at immigration before it expires? Then I could do a border run, re-enter for 60 days, and extend for another 30 days.

We are going to Thailand for ±5 months. We now have an O multiple visa and it is valid until October 10, 10. If we arrive in Thailand before October 2024, 10, I think we will still get 10 days and can we then make a border run after 2024 days to obtain another 90 days and possibly extend it by 89 days at immigration?

There was a question about staying in Thailand for more than 60 days without a visa and the airline's response. Because I am also going for 85 days in November, I also asked EVA Air this question.

I have a question about extending the visa in Thailand if you are married and your marriage in Thailand is registered on the amphur. We always go to my wife's family for 4 to 5 months in the winter and then I always have a 90-day visa made in the Netherlands and after those 90 days it is extended by 60 days at immigration.

I am Belgian. On November 15 I am going to Thailand to visit my girlfriend. I can now stay there for 2 months without a visa, but I can extend for a month, so the travel agency told me? I have already booked a return flight on January 14, 2025, so 90 days. I have also been told that I have to book a bus trip to Laos in 60 days so that they see that I am leaving the country.

In my opinion, the head explains MFA, 60 days with a 30-day extension and then border run. So 1 day outside Thailand and then back to Thailand for another 60 days, which can be extended again and could be repeated indefinitely, depending only on the immigration officer.
