Does anyone know if the border to Myanmar at Ranong is open for foreign tourists? I ask this because I am 9 days short of visa days and if possible do not want to pay a 500 baht fine per day when I fly back to the Netherlands from Thailand. I have already used the 1 month extension.

I have been in Thailand with a tourist visa (7 days) since 10-2022-60. I have extended this visa by 30 days up to and including 3-1-2023. I want to do a border run to Myanmar Taichileik on 3-1-2023. I'm curious how many days I can stay in Thailand with a Visa on Arrival overland when I come back. 7, 15, 30, 45 days or will I be refused?

My 30 day extension indicates January 16, 2023 as the last day. Does that mean I have to leave Thailand on January 16 or does it have to be 1 day earlier? If I want to do a border run by car to Laos, on which date should I re-enter Thailand? Are there any requirements to enter Laos or re-enter Thailand?

Can you still make a border run following a tourist visa single entry and an extension of 30 days to extend your stay by 45 days? I thought I understood that you can only stay in Thailand for 180 consecutive days in a period of 90 days. Or am I mistaken in this?

In response to visa question No. 223/22: METV, you write that with a METV, you get a residence period of 60 days with each entry. You can make as many entries as you want, as long as it is within the validity period of the visa. You can extend each entry once after 60 days by 30 days. Clear answer, but I do have three additional questions.

I plan to go to my wife in Thailand in January 2023 for approx. 90 days using the twice 45 days exemption. I want to do a border run via Nong Kai to Laos (Vientiane). Suppose I can do that on day 44, will it take me 2 days, day 44 and day 45? If so, will it “cost” me at the end of the second exemption of 45 days for those two days?

Encouraged by the message from the Visa Center that a visa is no longer required for up to 3 months, I arrived at the passport control at Suvarnabhumi. To my horror I saw a little later that they had stamped me a visa for 6 instead of 12 weeks! Anyway, let's find out how I can solve that after the exemption in Trat immigration of 4 weeks. Visa run?
