Questioner: Didier On February 11, 2025 I will be leaving for Thailand until April 30. I had applied for a visa non immigrant Thai marriage 90 days for this last week at the Thai embassy in Brussels. Yesterday I received my visa but was surprised that the start date of the visa was December 27, 2024, although I clearly indicated on my visa application that I will be staying in Thailand from February 12 to April 30. Is this normal or is …

Questioner: Peter How long should a passport be valid upon return from Thailand to the Netherlands? I am leaving again for Thailand on October 03, 10 and returning to the Netherlands on May 2024, 01. My passport is valid until August 05, 2025. One website says 19 months and another 08 months. When I call the Thai embassy I am transferred to someone who only speaks Thai. Consulate number out of service…. As usual, I trust your knowledge and…

My passport does not expire (until) September 9, 2025. The passport contains a years-old Non Immigrant (O)-retired visa with annual extensions until January 31 of the following year. Now I'm wondering whether, with the next "last" application for the extension in January 2025, they will extend it again until January 31, 2026 or whether they will extend it no later than the validity date of September 09, 2025 of the current old passport (which is in addition the application is used) issue?

Question about tourist visa (60 days). The validity of the visa is 3 months. Does this mean that I can go to Thailand for a maximum of 3 days before the 60 months expire or can I go to Thailand for a maximum of 3 days within those 60 months?

Questioner: Marco A question about my non-immigrant O visa for 50+, 1 year multiple entry. There is sometimes some confusion about this, it is not exactly the same as the non imm OA visa. When listing the visas, the former is listed under tourist visas, with different requirements for documentation. The question: with this visa I entered Thailand on August 3, 2022, and did several visa runs. I was under the impression that I…

Dear Rob/Editor, This morning my wife got her passport back from VFS Global in Bangkok with her new Schengen visa in it. Unfortunately, again with a validity of 3 months, while in the past she has already received 1 year and 3 years. I had asked for 3 or 5 years in the letter. Are longer visas no longer being issued at all or does anyone have other experiences? Regards, Ronald ****** Dear Ronald, Unfortunately you mention …

In the past, your passport had to be valid for 6 months for a visa application. I no longer see this requirement on the visa page of the Thai embassy in The Hague. Has this changed or has this been the case for a long time?

In response to visa question No. 223/22: METV, you write that with a METV, you get a residence period of 60 days with each entry. You can make as many entries as you want, as long as it is within the validity period of the visa. You can extend each entry once after 60 days by 30 days. Clear answer, but I do have three additional questions.

No flight details are requested to obtain a Non-Immigrant O (family) visa (by the Thai embassy in Berlin where I have to apply because I live in Germany). My question is whether a certain minimum period is applied when issuing / using a visa within which you must fly / arrive at Bangkok Airport? Or does it not matter and can I apply now to fly at the end of July or August (and then get the usual 90 days on arrival)?

After we booked a ticket with Emirates, departure in January 2022, we (my Thai girlfriend and I) found out that my girlfriend's passport expires in February 2022. Because the flight is via Dubai, we have a transfer. Emirates has been called, but they say that the validity of the passport must be plus 6 months.

As tourists we applied for our visas in December for our 2 monthly holiday in Thailand. Despite the correct date of return on the application form, the attached flight tickets, and the hotel voucher, the visa ends 5 days before the end of our holiday. According to the visa office, you can fly back up to 16 days after the expiration date, without extra fines. A few years ago I had to pay 100 dollars pp for a day late; Does anyone know if the rules have actually been relaxed?

In the very informative information letters from Ronny, the descriptions of the non-immigrant and the tourist visa state that the validity period of the visa can be deduced from the dates behind “date of issue” and “enter before”. With my last issued visa (both non immigrant and tourist) the validity appears to be slightly different. Now it says “valid from” and “valid until”. The date indicated after “valid from” is the date on which the visa was issued, so it is equal to the “date of issue” mentioned earlier.

My international travel pass is valid until 17/09/2018. From Thailand I travel to Cambodia and then back to fly home from Bangkok to Belgium. My hotels have already been booked and now my rather technical question: I will return to Thailand on 17/03/2018 and I think this is still exactly possible upon arrival because my travel pass is still valid for six months. However, a friend made me doubt and says that this will be a day too late.

I have known my girlfriend Parida for almost 6 months now. Met her here in the Netherlands as she was on holiday with family. After a few short encounters, she went back to Thailand. I myself have never been there and never expected to meet a lovely woman who gets out of there. Thanks to the great invention of the internet and video calling, we got to know each other well from a distance and now we really want to see each other again, of course.
