I would like to give the following tip. My wife has just (February 2021) returned from Thailand where she has been for three months due to family circumstances. Because there was still room in her luggage, she decided to bring green papayas, which are expensive in the Netherlands, for her favorite dish.

The SVB has started sending life certificates again. The life certificate can simply be stamped and signed by the Social Security Office in Laem Chabang if you live in Chonburi province.

On October 20, 2020 I wanted to travel to Cambodia from Brussels with Qatar Airways, but was not allowed to continue in Seoul due to an unsigned covid certificate and had to return to Brussels. No compensation.
Reader Submission: Social Security Office in Hua Hin has moved
The Social Security Office in Hua Hin (Prachuap Khiri Khan) has moved from the corner of Soi 11 on Phetkasem Road to the corner of Soi 16 also on Phetkasem Road.
You don't have to look for them along the great rivers Mun and Mekong. These mythical snakes with human traits and several menacing heads will naturally come at you during a trip along these rivers.

Around the beginning of 2013, my Thai wife and I bought a piece of land in the Isaan, about 15 kilometers south of Ubon Ratchathani. We looked for a quiet spot near a big city and eventually found 1,5 rai of neglected rice land located on an idyllic dirt road (well, road, say cart track) on which we would build a house. The ground was raised and construction was completed at the end of 2014.

Tickets booked in January 2020 for travel in May 2020 (Bkk – Brussels and back). Given the flights were canceled due to Covid: vouchers received. Refund requested instead of vouchers but great silence on the side of Thai Airways. Even received new vouchers this week, valid until December 30, 2022.
Building a house in Ban Pa Song, near the border with Cambodia
In 1996 my Thai wife Tuk came to live and work in the Netherlands. We were already vaguely talking about eventually living in Thailand and possibly building a house there. In 2010 we got married in the traditional Thai-Cambodian way in Tuk's native village. From that moment on we started thinking more concretely about settling in Thailand. We started imagining what all this would entail and how we would like to organize our lives.

Reader Submission: Thai Elite card has new options!
New maps have been added to Thailand Elite (Source: thailandelite.com). This includes a green card for 5 years with an extensive Health benefit plan, including COVID insurance. This for only 1.5 million Baht. Approx 42.000 Euros. But….if younger than 55!
Due to the Covid19 virus, I and my family were unable to fly from Bangkok to Amsterdam at the beginning of 2020 due to flight restrictions.
