I have a question for you, especially the homeowners with a garden. I have a lot that our house is on. At the moment a few things are growing up here, but it is by no means opaque. Now I've seen that thick grass more often at hotels, this seems very full. Any idea what kind it is? Pros and cons?
Thailand reader question: Keeping goats to keep grass short
Are there blog readers who have experience with keeping goats. This is to keep the grass short.
Reader submission: Garden advice requested (lawn construction)
Around the beginning of 2013, my Thai wife and I bought a piece of land in the Isaan, about 15 kilometers south of Ubon Ratchathani. We looked for a quiet spot near a big city and eventually found 1,5 rai of neglected rice land located on an idyllic dirt road (well, road, say cart track) on which we would build a house. The ground was raised and construction was completed at the end of 2014.
Zoysia lawn is ruined in rainy season by worm excrement
Reader question: I have a beautiful garden with a Zoysia lawn of about 800 m2. Now in the rainy season it is infested with worm droppings. I don't mean those small worms, but worms about 40 cm long and almost 1 cm thick. The droppings are about 5 cm wide and 10 cm. high. It seems that the soil under the grass is dumped on top of the grass and then the grass dies because it no longer receives light. It becomes a kind of tuber field.
Reader question: Lawn grass in our garden at Sisaket
We want to sow our garden near Sisaket with 'lawn' grass. Now my partner has a very green thumb, but since you can't eat grass, this knowledge is somewhat limited. I know you can buy sod but these are not very cheap. Who has an advice what kind to buy in the Isaan?
I have been scouring this blog and the internet regarding grass seed in Thailand. It's not easy to come by. We have asked around in various places and have actually come to the following conclusion: Thai grass/seed suppliers keep this business under control themselves, they mainly supply complete turf to golf courses, airports etc. but no seed.
