Dear Rob/Editor,

My Thai partner's Schengen visa application has been rejected. We are considering engaging an immigration lawyer.

Are there Thailandblog readers who have experience with this themselves and want to share their experiences with us? For example, which law firm, method, costs, result, etc.

We have already Googled, but we are mainly looking for reactions from experts by experience. Other useful comments are of course also welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Wilai and Rob

Dear Rob and Wilai,

I am also curious about concrete experiences with immigration lawyers. We hardly hear about experiences from practice.
Which lawyer, of course, just depends on what you want (visit US digitally, as cheaply as possible or pay a little more, type of case, etc.).
There are a number of well-known names that go around with some regularity, in general I think they are positive but not always natural (“my lawyer did too little”).

So write to several lawyers and then work with the one who gave you the best impression.

In no particular order I will mention a few well-known names:
– https://www.pieters advocaten.nl/
– https://www.kantoorservaas.nl/
– www.sar-advocaten.nl/ (Sarikas & Agayev Advocaten)
– https://www. Strangers-advocaat.nl/
– https://fair advocaten.nl/ (Mr. Ayfer Orhan)
– www.prawo.nl (also regularly active on TB and the specialist in the field of the EU route)
– Google (keywords “lawyer for foreigners law” / “foreigners lawyer” + place name)

If readers have experiences with these or other immigration attorneys, please let us know. If the experience is disappointing, please indicate what went wrong.
A lawyer may, of course, have done a poor job, but the client's expectations may just as well have been too high.

If the number of responses from readers is disappointing, check out forums such as externpartner.nl (a similar forum, mixed-couples.nl seems to have died).
Over the years, all kinds of people have left their compliments or disappointment with various lawyers.

I will also read with interest the comments of readers!

Regards,

Rob V

    Hallo,
A long time ago I also asked a question on this site with the subject of a VISA problem.
Due to various circumstances, it is still not resolved.
However, I would like to note that at the time Prawo
completely selflessly responded and gave tips.
That's why I would choose him now, if necessary.
    Kind regards, Will

Thank you Will. I am now in contact with PRAWO. Good to know that you at least had good experiences.

Wil, did you also have a Schengen visa? If so, would you like to email me? I wonder what the conditions were then. E-mail: [email protected]

Dear Thailandblog readers. Unfortunately, when I posted my message, the option to reply was not enabled. That is now the case. I see that currently 52 readers have seen my post. My request is to respond now if you have had to deal with a rejection of the Schengen visa for the Netherlands and you have lodged an objection yourself or through a lawyer. I am very curious about the information from experts. Thank you very much in advance. Alternatively, by e-mail: [email protected]

It is not clear from the question for what kind of stay a visa has been applied for, but despite that, what could be the reason that a lawyer can mean more if the requested is delivered?
The consideration is a risk analysis, especially in order not to disappear into illegality, as can happen with human trafficking. That can of course also be a political excuse to keep out a Thai who will not make a real contribution to the GDP with statistics that confirm this.
It remains strange that for some Thais it is a piece of cake to obtain a visa and that others have to put in so much effort. I sometimes have the feeling that a zip code of the guarantor also matters.
    Anyway, good luck.
