Thailand – Belgium question: Municipality asks for an “international” birth certificate from my Thai wife?
We are married in Thailand. After a lot of sweating, my wife obtained a visa D for family reunification to come to Belgium. We have all documents in original Thai and Dutch and everything legalized by MFA Bangkok and Belgian Embassy BKK. My wife is now with me in Belgium.
Thailand question: My birth certificate in Thailand is incorrect, how can I have it corrected?
I was born in 1998 in Bangkok, Thailand. My parents fled from Iraq at the time and made a stopover in Thailand. My mother was alone when I was born. She didn't speak English or Thai, so I suspect someone else, possibly the hospital staff, filled in the details.
My son was born in 2020. Now the birth certificate has the mother's name plus her ID number. My name on the deed is misspelled in my age is not correct. So no ID number or anything.
Our second daughter was born in Thailand and immediately registered at the Belgian embassy, and also immediately obtained a Belgian passport. All this was already 22 years ago. Now after finishing her higher studies we need a birth certificate. It can be picked up in Surin, which is no problem, but then the tour starts legalizing at Foreign Affairs Thailand, translating, legalizing at the Belgian embassy.

I intend to marry my Thai girlfriend here in the Netherlands. She has been living with me in the Netherlands for a few years now. Now we have a problem with her birth certificate. Think that more people have lost their birth certificate and Thai municipalities only issue copies, no longer originals. So what now?
Because we would be getting married this year, we need a recent birth certificate and legalized by the Belgian embassy in Bangkok. Now my question was actually how can I get there? Can I do something like this by post or what other options are there?
My wife has been in Belgium for 9 years now, everything is fine with her. She has followed integration courses, works, we have a son, and she has a Belgian ID+ card. My son (32) married a Thai woman (5) in Thailand 32 years ago. She has now passed the civic integration exam and they want to settle in the Netherlands and start a family. All papers are in order except they no longer have the official marriage document (pink paper) and no longer the official birth certificate. The Thai government legalizes the copies and so does the Dutch embassy.
You may think you are doing everything right, but due to insufficient information I did a lot of wrong. I hope there is an opportunity here for others to learn from my mistakes. In order to register our marriage in The Hague, I had to send a legalized copy of my wife's birth certificate.

My Thai stepson is planning to marry his Dutch girlfriend in Italy. He is in possession of a Dutch passport. At the town hall in the Netherlands, people are now asking for his Thai birth certificate. I have this with the certified translation in English. Dated January 16, 1984. According to the town hall here, the stamp for legalization of the Dutch embassy in Thailand is missing.

My Thai girlfriend has a residence permit for 5 years and is now working on her integration. Her 7-year-old son still lives with his grandparents, and recently spent 3 months with us on holiday in the Netherlands with his aunt. We want him to come to us for good. The father has never really been present in his life, but is on the birth certificate. After the breakup between my girlfriend and him, he moved and started a new family, but has completely disappeared from the picture in terms of whereabouts.
