We drive by car on the highway, along the side of the road you see Thai people selling everything. So is someone who sells kites. I say to my wife: “I have never seen a child in the village flying a kite”. She says: “They are not for children either, but for the rice farmers who, when they have finished harvesting on the land, fly the kites as a thank you. For what was not clear to me.

A few days ago I wrote about the flooding we had after a heavy rain from our future neighbour's land. We were angry and got into a fight with them because they claimed that this water could not have come from them. This despite the fact that we clearly saw that the white mud that came with this water came from their newly raised piece of land.

In response to a question about the rejection of a Schengen visa, Rob V. made inquiries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands. It is unclear whether the temporary arrangement for long-distance loved ones still applies, now that fully vaccinated Thais are allowed to travel to the Netherlands with a valid vaccination certificate.
