I have received a visa support letter with sufficient income from the Dutch embassy in Bangkok. Unfortunately, this was not accepted in Buriram. A Thai bank account is the explicit requirement there.

My wife will soon be flying to Bangkok with Turkish Airways. In Istanbul she only has an hour for the transfer. Is that sufficient? Does anyone have experience with it? I'm a little worried, she's flying alone and what if she doesn't make it…

I always apply for an extension of my non-immigrant O using the 800.000 scheme. I am now going to pay taxes in Thailand. Can the tax return and proof of payment replace the 800.000 settlement and visa support letter I wonder? Of course, depending on the height of the attack.

I know that in Thailand you need a work permit to work. Now, I am a digital nomad and work all day on my laptop as a programmer. Can I get in trouble with that? I mean, is there any control over the type of work I do? I don't think so because of course I can't check whether I'm online all day for fun or for work.

The 'blood thinner' acenocoumarol has been used for 10 years in connection with the pacemaker that was placed in 2009. I regularly check the INR value with a Coaguchek and with the weekly dose of 16 mg it is usually between 2 and 3, the desired value.

With some regularity Teoy, my wife, goes back to her native village, Ban Dung. She has her sister with daughter and her children and many friends living there. Teoy prefers to go on a Buddha day, so that she can combine a visit to the temple with visiting her family and friends. My dear wife often says to me: “You don't have to take tar if you don't feel like it”.

On the eve of my departure to the sweltering Netherlands (from the rain in the drizzle…) a short summer blog, as announced in my previous blog. Short, because you can tell from the amount of emails, visitors and meetings that the holiday season has arrived. But that does not mean that nothing is happening at all, on the contrary.
