I am looking for people who have experience working as a diving instructor in Thailand (Koh Tao). I have been coming to Thailand for many years and since I took my son with me, he has become addicted to the country, just like me. Since he is a fanatical diver, he wants to work as a diving instructor next year (after completing training there) for an initial period of 1 year.

My son wants to work as a freelance diving instructor in Thailand. Does he have to pay income tax in Thailand and how does that work? I've found some mixed answers online and it's not entirely clear. Maybe there are people here who also work freelance in Thailand.

The proposed increase in the state pension age to 70 is meeting resistance in the Netherlands. Research shows that working longer is necessary, but many employees already experience the current retirement age as too high. This raises questions about the feasibility and impact on both the labor market and the well-being of employees.

Thailand Visa question No. 005/21: Can I work with a visa obtained on the basis of Retirement?
![](https://www.thailandblog.nl/wp-content/uploads/visum-thailand-2-250x250.jpg)
Working in Thailand on a retirement visa. I don't know if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find it. I understand that Thai law prohibits working and earning money as a foreigner residing in Thailand on a retirement visa. That this applies to working for a Thai or foreign company, but also to yourself as a self-employed person who is paid for his work. Is it true that this is a (serious) violation of Thai law and that this can lead to very high fines or even expulsion from Thailand?
Reader question: Can a Thai with an Italian passport work in the Netherlands/Belgium?
![](https://www.thailandblog.nl/wp-content/uploads/vraag_151474217-250x250.jpg)
A Thai with an Italian passport is not equal to any other European with an Italian passport or not? In my opinion, a passport means permanent residence with the same privileges as any European born person, in other words: free movement of movement and work.
