In Thia's house and especially behind it, it is very busy. About ten women are cooking. Banana leaves are stuffed with rice. Giant pots of meat are on the fire. The men interfere with the decoration of the house. Only now do I understand that monks are already coming tonight.

Since I am now acting more like a Pattayaan than a tourist, I will spare you the repetitions. Because once I've found my niche, I have no problem eating the same thing every day, walking the same round and visiting the same bars in the evening. But still you come across things every now and then, which makes me wonder why I didn't know about this sooner.

A few weeks ago I asked Thailandblog for tips for my trip of (unfortunately) only 9 days to Pattaya. I have received many tips, changed my trip almost completely and was even able to make it considerably cheaper. The editors then asked me to make a report of my journey, which of course seems very nice if I experience things that are worth sharing here. That should definitely work in Pattaya!

It must be about ten years ago that I last visited the Phi Phi Islands, within sailing distance of the resort of Ao Nang near Krabi. Because my friend Raysiya's son was doing an internship for three months in an extremely luxurious hotel near Krabi, a visit to the islands was obvious.

Joseph sees a strange kind of high temple. Anyway, just take a look. At the complex there is a signpost that indicates the direction to the Vihara Phra Sri Ariya Mattrai, the Sala Somdet Phra Srinagarinda Boromarajajonani and the largest of the three: the Bodhgaya. For us Westerners rather uninformative descriptions, but who knows what we will see.
