We are going to make a tour of Thailand and Cambodia in August 2018. Now we want to spend the last week relaxing on the island of Koh Samui. Who can recommend a fun and child-friendly resort or B&B on Koh Samui? We are traveling with an 8 year old child. We would prefer a house / bungalow on or on the beach.

I have been talking to NL Tax and Customs Administration for some time now, and as I have read so many times in this blog, they continue to be difficult.
Despite the fact that I have been away from NL for 10 years, and have been staying in Thailand for more than 180 days (proven with passport stamps) and have submitted a neatly translated statement from the local revenue office, which indicates that I am listed in the tax register, they simply say flatly “you have not demonstrated that you are a foreign tax resident”.

Would like to know if there are people who have experience with RESPO TRAILERS in Hua Hin. I bought and paid for a trailer there, but now receive an extremely suspicious e-mail, the delivery this week has been postponed until the end of next month.

I was in Bangkok in November and was curious about the IconSiam complex on the Chao Phraya, but saw a half-finished complex and no construction activity. Does anyone have any news about this (complex would be completed in 2017 costing about a billion euros).

Who can give me information about the following please? My Thai daughter-in-law went to her family in Thailand for 8 months with baby, baby did not yet have Thai nationality, only Belgian and passport for 30 days. We are a couple in our early 50's and want to spend the winter in Southeast Asia. Initially, our preference was for Thailand, but we dread the hassle of a visa. Now we are thinking about one of the neighboring countries. Is it easier to get a 4 month visa in Vietnam, Cambodia or Myanmar?

Coincidentally, I am now in Pattaya on New Year's Eve. I wondered how the Dutch celebrate New Year's Eve in Pattaya? Do they mainly stay at home or do they come together to toast during the turn of the year, eat an oliebol and set off fireworks? Where should I go for a pleasant evening with compatriots? Does anyone have a tip?

My wife and I are considering living in Thailand (somewhere close to the sea) for six months and in the Netherlands for six months. A question that still lives with us is: what about crime in Thailand? If we leave our house unattended in Thailand for six months, won't it be broken into?

Go to Thailand again soon. Always rent a moped. I've had a fine a few times because I don't have an international driver's license (but I do have a national one). My question: if I have an international driver's license, can I still get a fine, because this is for a moped and not for a motorcycle (mopeds can drive 110 km in Thailand in contrast to the Netherlands and are therefore a kind of motorcycle). I don't have a motorcycle license.

Does anyone have experience with how long it takes for the Dutch tax authorities to receive an answer to a question to the Thai authorities about a second home in Thailand? And then specifically about the property and the value.

A lot has already been said on this blog about obtaining visas and yet, after hours of searching, I do not think that an answer can be found for my specific case. That is why I would like to explain what my situation is and what my aim is. I will try to give as much detail as possible to avoid misunderstandings.
