TB Immigration Info Letter 018/20: Covid-19 letter of support for application extension period of stay.
To extend a period of stay obtained with a Non-immigrant visa, your immigration office may request a letter of support from the embassy. You can read here or via this link how to obtain it at the Dutch embassy.
Now that the income statement can only be sent by post, the following is possible. Provide sufficient postage for the return envelope for EMS shipping. My return envelope had not arrived after 18 days.
It now seems that immigration will allow an extension of the period of stay of 30 days each time. For now I only have the link to ThaiVisa. There you can read or download the relevant document.

TB Immigration Info Brief 014/20: Health Insurance OA Visa
I managed to get new health insurance that meets the Immigration requirements for an OA visa. I already had insurance, but with only Inpatient coverage. It was already requested at my last year extension, but the new requirement only took effect 3 days later.
TB Immigration Info Letter 013/20: Non-immigrant O or OA
I had often wondered what could be the reason why only the Non OA Visas and their extensions are targeted because of those additional insurance issues. But apparently there may well be “processes” going on that will not see the light of day for the time being (more on that below).
In addition to my previously submitted article on the aforementioned subject, I read today (I only have internet once a week) a response to my message, in which it was noted that the questions to be asked by me to immigration (which were only partially answered ), were missing.
Was February 13 at Chiangmai Immigration for the extension of temporary stay in the Kingdom on the basis of retirement (non-o visa).
It was old-fashioned busy again, had the following documents.
Last Thursday, I (dressed in smart attire as requested by the Immigration Office) first submitted my Extension Non-Imm “O” single entry (retirement) and Re-entry (single) application to Immigration Chaeng Wattana in BKK. This, prepared as well as possible by reading your advice on Tb for years and after an earlier visit to the same office, last year, for more information, which turned out to be very difficult even then because there was no time for it due to busy times. Same story again.
TB Immigration Info Letter 009/20: Consulate Essen
WilChang: Speed dating for Non Immigrant–O, at the Thai Embassy in Essen
For several years we have been using the METV Visa for our winter stay in Thailand. We live close to the border of Malaysia, so no problem with the 2 monthly visa run. We always do this in Satun Wang Prachan border. Our first visa run at the beginning of December 2019, no problem crossing the border and back and all this in less than 30 minutes. Yesterday we went for our second visa run “big problem”. We were told to stay in Malaysia for at least 2 days and provide proof of 1 night stay. We pointed out that our visa was a “METV”. The answer: rules have changed.
Last Friday I made my first 90-day report after the year extension, the conversation went slightly different than with the reports of the past 2 years.
Today my last day of my year extension (married to a Thai) I was planning to apply for a 60 day extension at Jomtien immigration. Then I wanted to switch to a retirement because of 800.000 baht then long enough on the couch.
On January 16, 2020 I went to the immigration office, located on the outskirts of the provincial capital of Sisaket, for the extension of my stay (retirement) by 1 year (valid until 15-02-2020) and the 90-day notification (valid until 19-01- 2020).
NB: My first year of residence (retirement), based on a Non-immigrant “O” ME visa, was in February 2014.
