Today, April 8, I visited immigration to extend my retirement visa based on pension income. After visiting the bank for the letter regarding my account and an overview of deposited amounts from April 8 (200 Baht) 2021 to April 8, 2022, I was at immigration at 10.00 a.m. and was outside again at 10.15:14.00 a.m. with the number for the later collection of passport (Monday after XNUMX p.m.) outside again.

This is my fifth overtime. Twice Chiang Mai – efficient, twice Trat – paperwork and inconsistent. And now Hua Hin – transparent and efficient. On the wall hangs a placard explaining the procedure.

After years of staying on a retirement extension, we have now applied for a marriage extension for the first time. Married to a Thai for 22 years but never did because those 30 days of processing never went together with my offshore work.

Is no health insurance required when renewing as “Retired”? If I apply for an extension as “Retired” at Immigration Korat in due course, will this also be possible without health insurance, such as the same with “Thai Marriage”, as you mentioned? (In the latter you will receive an annual visit from Immigration, they will take pictures of your interior, witnesses and a road map must be presented.)

I plan to finally travel to Thailand again. I arrive on 08-04-22 and will leave again on 30-09-22. I already have a ticket.
Now I have to apply for a visa for that period. I want to apply for a Non O which is valid for 90 days and I know that I can extend it to a year of Non O retirement which is then valid for one year.

In mid-December 2021 we flew to Thailand with KLM. I had received a 3 month O visa at the Thai embassy in The Hague. Since we would fly back in mid-April, I had to have this visa extended during my presence in Thailand. For this we had to go to the immigration office in Hua Hin. It is a 200 km drive from our hometown of Bang Saphan.

Regarding to my visit, had all papers in order I thought but was confronted with a new (?) rule. Namely, it is now required that the income statement from the embassy must be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok. Made an appointment there online but can't go there until February 25th. So be there in time!

Soon I hope to be able to go back to Thailand and this before April 13, 2022, because then my current annual extension expires. My Belgian travel pass expires on July 4, 2023 and according to friends, your travel pass should still be valid for another 18 months when the new annual extension is granted. Is this correct? Because then this means that I have to get a new travel pass before I leave and take my old travel pass with the "old" extension and re-entry stamp with me?

Recognizable? You name it. Sometimes there are things that play in your head and then it is pleasant or necessary to talk or write about it. An anecdote written from life. In my case, the annual recurring ritual of the “retirement extension” had been discussed.
