Pattaya and Jomtien still have their charm, but the unprecedented building frenzy and the polluted seawater surprise me. Today I was there again to extend my residence permit. What a difference from last year! Ready in 40 minutes. But the best part is that waiting for your number takes place in a new building with air conditioning and crowd barriers so that the line moves forward in an orderly manner. We have been coming to Jomtien for at least two months a year for 20 years and then rent a double condo in 'the higher price segment' as the agents advertise the condos. Last six years in VT5C. It's always a challenge to find a nice condo; There are many condos on the agents' website, but if you show interest, that condo is no longer available. But what happened to us last year and now in 2024 is very bizarre!
