In the meantime, Lung Addie has met with the organizers of the event and has all the details of the event.
Living as a Single Farang in the Jungle – On the road 11: In search of the sources of…..
Just before the start of the rainy season, Lung Addie still wanted to make a new exploration trip in his own region by motorcycle. Not, as the title suggests, looking for the sources of the Nile, because it does not flow through Thailand but to the sources of the Klong Hua Wang.
Is Chumphon right for us?
We traveled with a (luxury taxi) from Bangkok to Koh Chang last year. This was perfect. Can this also be done from Bangkok to Chumphon? The main question is whether Chumphon meets our expectations? We intend to stay for 2 to 3 weeks.
Thai Riviera must give tourism a new impulse
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has come up with a master plan for the regions of Phetchaburi, Hua Hin, Chumphon and Ranong, which together form the 'Thai Riviera'. According to the plan, this area has a lot of tourist potential because it has a sustainable, cultural, historical, gastronomic and sporting offer.
Living as a Single Farang in the Jungle: On the road 9 – Tha Sae, the hell of the South West
It's been a while since Lung addie, in his own region, has been on a motorcycle reconnaissance. This was because he took most of the interesting places of Chumphon province with him. But there was another reasonable area that had actually fallen into oblivion a bit, namely Tha Sae, an area bordering Myanmar.
The south of Thailand expects heavy rainfall until Sunday and a number of preparations are being made to prevent flooding. For example, the waterways in the southern province of Chumphon are being drained to make room for the amount of rainwater. All weirs have also been opened to speed up the flow.
Living as a Single Farang in the jungle: From the South to Isaan (day 8) back to the South
Up at 6 am, no problem for Lung Addie. Once the day dawns, he is, as usual, already out of bed. He wants to leave at 7 o'clock because it will be a long drive and wants to drive as little as possible in the dark. It really wouldn't be disturbing if there had to be some distance in the dark as Lung addie would already be on familiar territory.
On the road (5) with Lung Addie
As a result of previous articles published on the blog “on the road in the province of Chumphon 1-2-3-4” there have already been several readers who wanted to experience these trips for themselves. For example, last year there was a group of 7 people, all Belgians, from Hua Hin, who wanted to experience these trips, with Lung Addie as a guide.
Until about a good week ago we were surprised here in the South by a true deluge. Seven days of uninterrupted heavy rains ravaged the Samui Archipelago as well as the area south of Chumphon province.
Living as a Single Farang in the Jungle: Khao Nok Kin See or Dinsor Hill Chumphon (Pathiu)
We are writing September 26, 2016. Today I observe the first raptors (birds of prey) above my home in the jungle of Pathiu. They are back, like every year, a true natural phenomenon.
Life as a single Farang in the jungle: New life for Coral Beach?
Lung Addie writes about one of the most beautiful beaches in the area: CORAL BEACH. Until about 7 years ago, many Thai people came here for a picnic on the beach. But suddenly it was over and out. Evil sea spirits were responsible for the drowning of 5 young Thais in a span of two months. The place has been avoided like the plague ever since.
There is no shortage of festivals in Thailand, but there is always something to do. As a permanent resident, who does not want to live locked up in his jungle, always a welcome distraction in daily life.
Living as a Single Farang in the Jungle: "Socials"
From what Lung Addie reads on the blog, he must deduce that quite a few Farangs, who have moved to Thailand, want as little contact as possible with other Farangs or no contact at all. Some even call their compatriots whiners, vinegar pissers…. I have already learned a nice series of such swear words.
Life as a single Farang in the jungle: Visit from C & A
For the most part, due to the articles published on Thailand blog, Lung addie often gets the question from Dutch and Belgian tourists whether it is possible to help them find their way in the region here. Lung addie doesn't mind that and has already met several cool people in this way.
On the road in Thailand (4): Beautiful places in the Chumphon province
This time I will take you to some more remote places in Chumphon province. More specifically to Phato, this is the southernmost part of Chumphon province and about 200 km south of Pathiu.
A clean beach, who doesn't want that?
It all started a few months ago, the high season started with the arrival of several Dutch, Belgian, French…. tourists. Here in Chumphon province we have beautiful, endless beaches. Not yet overrun by mass tourism and therefore suitable for a nice relaxing holiday.
Wrong tourist information
A couple of French cyclists, packed and with their bags, arrive at the resort. Exhausted by a wrong estimate of the climate and the route. People expect a flat course along the coast, as in the Netherlands and Belgium, but that is not the case here, it is a very undulating course.
