Widow what now!……it has been a topic on this blog before, but all cases are different, so our question here. An acquaintance of ours, a Dutch man, who has been living in Thailand since 2012, passed away suddenly last week at the age of 68, lived together with his Thai wife, which we know, for a number of years in the Netherlands. She called us today, asking how to proceed, no more money coming in. Unfortunately, we had to fail to answer her.

I regularly see competitively priced airline tickets from Norwegian, a Norwegian low-cost airline. They fly from Oslo to Bangkok, among others. I was wondering if there are already readers here on Thailand blog who have flown with them and what your experiences are?

My Thai girlfriend complains bitterly about the heat in Thailand (especially during this period). For her it is even a reason to consider moving to the Netherlands. I'm surprised myself because I always thought that Thai can handle the heat better than us, pale noses. I therefore wonder whether it is something personal with my girlfriend (she is healthy and not overweight) or whether there are more Thai people who suffer from the heat?

I've been coming to Thailand for 20 years, but Koh Samui wasn't there yet. I am orienting myself, but find it difficult, especially to find a nice (something nice -luxury) condo in a nice place for max. 20.000 Th Baht. I also see all kinds of nice places to go and in which neighborhood I want to stay. I do want a bit of people around me (the Chawat beach seems too busy to me though). A little less is fine for us. We are now seniors, but we still drive motorcycles (also in Thailand) so we do have transport.

This fall I am going on holiday to Thailand for six weeks. I read the visa regulations on the website of the Thai consulate in Antwerp and I went through Ronny's excellent visa file. Still, I have a few questions.

Thailand is one of the countries I have visited many times. A lot changes what is today can be gone tomorrow. Still, I have a question for the readers in Bangkok at the Montien hotel were some shops a Starbucks massage / pedicure salons 7-Eleven a large terrace and restaurant. The last time everything was demolished. Does anyone know what replaced it? I sat so cozy on the terrace to eat and drink and looked out on the Patpong market.

I am 46 years old and self-employed and looking for the possibility to obtain a 6 month multiply entry visa currently in the Netherlands or, if necessary, Antwerp. So I am not employed, do not have a permanent employer and do not have a fixed monthly income, but… I do have a sufficient amount in the savings account.

I've used the search function on Thailandblog and come across a number of older questions, but nothing that really covers the load, and perhaps things have changed in recent years. I have been investing in shares through various Dutch brokers for several years now. But now that I have my life here in Thailand, I wonder what my options are to open an account here too?

A few years ago I sold my house, emigrated to Thailand and left my money in a Dutch bank account. Do I now have to pay wealth tax on this and will the tax authorities automatically send me a form? So far I have not heard anything, but I am afraid that if nothing happens I may be fined.

I have a question about the best route from Buriram to Siem Reap in Cambodia. One says take a taxi to Chomchoeng/kapchoeng and then continue across the border with a Cambodian taxi to Siem Reap. Another swears by the border crossing at Sakeo. I don't think there is much other choice.

The annual renewal of a Non-Immigrant OA visa must be done through 'Immigration'. I would like to know how this works in practice? Like, do you have to report physically or is it just an administrative action? Where to report? Of course I want to travel as short as possible.

I plan to sell all my possessions in Thailand: house, pick up truck, etc. and move back to Belgium for family reasons. What would be the best way to get larger sums of money to Belgium? I have had an account with Bangkok Bank for years.

A friend of mine is going on holiday in Thailand soon with her niece. Now it so happens that her niece has a metabolic problem. To be able to take this into account in restaurants in Thailand, she would like to have a Dutch sentence translated into Thai. She can then print it out and plasticize it to show in the restaurants.

I have a question that has probably been asked here before, but I'll ask it anyway. My Thai wife and I live in the Netherlands, we are married in the Netherlands and my love has a Dutch passport (and a Thai one of course). Now my question: we also want to get married in Thailand legally, do we have to get married “again” or can you register your Dutch marriage in Thailand?

Next week I'm going to Thailand again and my Thai girlfriend and I want to get married. I already have the necessary papers from the Netherlands ready. I enter Thailand on a visa on arrival (30 days). Just after arrival I will visit the Dutch embassy in Bangkok to arrange the papers and translations. Once this is in order we will go to the local Amphur to legalize the marriage. But now my question is, is this just possible with a 30-day visa, or do I have to have another visa for this?
