Board of NL association in Hua Hin wants foreigners as members
The Dutch community in Hua Hin and Cha am is on edge. The decision of the NVTHC to admit foreigners to the association has caused a stir among its members. Thailandblog spoke with Hans Bos, former vice-chairman and secretary of the association, about this controversial turn and the consequences it has for the future of the association.

Agenda: the Dutch Bridge Club Pattaya
The Dutch Bridge Club Pattaya was founded in 2003 by a number of bridge enthusiasts. Since then the club has grown steadily. We are still very active with bridge three times a week. Day-to-day affairs are arranged by the bridge committee.
A fantastic program for a historic evening! The NVTHC's annual Christmas gala in the garden of the illustrious Centara Hotel in Hua Hin will be remembered for a long time to come.
The Dutch Association in Bangkok organizes a fun afternoon for young and old with crafts for the youngest, making marzipan figures, etc., while the parents can enjoy a drink.
On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, Villa Oranje is organizing a Dutch/Flemish evening. Starts at 17.00 p.m.

NVTHC events man, Patrick Franssen, has planned a nice excursion on Wednesday 13 July. Under his guidance you can pay a fascinating visit to Amphawa, the floating market about 100 km before Bangkok. From my own experience I can say that Amphawa is the nicest among the floating markets.

It is a tradition of the NVT to close the association year with a BBQ. This year we do that together with the NTCC and of course everyone is welcome, including non-members!
Agenda: Drinks evening N/A Hua Hin/Cha-am with emphasis on Bumrungrad Hospital on May 27
The cocktail evening on Friday 27 May at Chef Cha will this time be devoted to the best hospital in Thailand, the Bumrungrad in Bangkok.
The heavily clouded sky on the war cemeteries in Kanchanaburi on 4 May was an excellent match for the commemoration of the fallen in the Second World War. On that occasion, about forty Dutch people expressed their appreciation for the fact that thousands in Thailand also gave their lives. Dutch, Australians, English (just to name a few countries) and many, many Asians. They are usually paid less attention at commemorations.
Wednesday 27 April is an excellent date to celebrate, also because it is the Dutch king's birthday. It's also an excellent time to get rid of some unnecessary stuff.

It promises to be a great Oranjefeest with a live band, surprise acts, DJ, an extensive buffet with international, Thai and Dutch dishes, desserts and soft drinks. Bitterballen is not missing and a glass of Oranjebitter and 3 glasses of wine or Heineken beer are included for every visitor.

If you think that the board of the NVTHC will rest on its laurels after the successful reception of ambassador Remco van Wijngaarden, then you are wrong.
It was Friday evening, so to speak, 'full house' at restaurant Chef Cha on the border of Hua Hin and Chaam. More than 100 Dutch people and their partners met our highest Dutch representative in Thailand, Remco van Wijngaarden (55). He was there at the invitation of the Dutch Hua Hin/Cha am Association (NVTHC).
