NVTHC events man, Patrick Franssen, has planned a nice excursion on Wednesday 13 July. Under his guidance you can pay a fascinating visit to Amphawa, the floating market about 100 km before Bangkok. From my own experience I can say that Amphawa is the nicest among the floating markets.
The program for the day is: (meet at Hua Hin train station). The costs for bus and boat are 400 baht pp. There is room for 20 passengers in the bus. First come…Sign up at: [email protected]

Too bad the visit to Amphawa market is not in the evenings. This is the only floating market that continues on Friday, Saturday and Sunday when the sun has dropped behind the horizon until 20 p.m. The illuminated spectacle is a special experience.
Do as the Thai do and also visit the famous temple Wat Bang Kung. People come from far and wide to see the Golden Buddha in the hollow bayan tree.
Tip: do not stay on the main road all the time by bus, but do a stretch near the coast, such as the salt pans at Ban Leam and the Long bridge over the mouth of the river at the fishing village of Tabung.
