The number of students living in extreme poverty is rising
Recent research among Thai students shows that, as a result of the corona pandemic, the number of students with financial problems has risen to more than 2021 million in 1,2. According to the Equitable Education Fund (EEF) study, the number of students classified as “extremely poor” has risen from 994.428 in the first semester of 2020 to 1,24 million today. This means that 1 in 5 students now falls into that category.
