We were forced to say goodbye to the Avani resort and are now staying in the newly built Amber hotel just a few months ago. No view of the sea but adjacent to a side street of the famous Soi Buakhao. You don't recognize this otherwise busy street and just like on Beachroad you see few people here and it is dead quiet everywhere.

Due to the corona virus, the well-known (holiday) days will be given a different interpretation in the near future, both in Thailand and elsewhere in the world. The upcoming Chakri Day, Monday April 6, will no longer be a day off as people used to due to the corona virus. Government services and post offices will also be closed on that day.

Although we have nothing to complain about our hotel with a spacious en-suite room with a large balcony and a view of the sea, we still experience it a bit as if we are trapped in Thailand.

When we take a walk on Sunday morning after breakfast, Bangkok seems deserted. Department stores, restaurants, cafes, markets, hairdressers and so on, they are all closed by order of Bangkok's governor Aswin Kwanmuang.
Raid in nightclubs Pattaya for violation of corona rules
Two Thai nightclubs in Pattaya were unexpectedly raided by Chonburi authorities. Provincial orders to close due to the coronavirus pandemic were flouted.
In Jomtien and Pattaya I have not been able to find a store that still has face masks in stock. Fortunately, my Thai girlfriend saw on the internet that on Saturday, March 21, there would still be face masks in stock and for sale in CENTRAL MARINA in the 2nd Road in Pattaya. So we go there.
