Crisis is increasingly affecting Dutch holidaymakers
The financial crisis is increasingly affecting the holiday of the Dutch. Almost half of them (48%) say that their holiday behavior is determined by the crisis. That means going on holiday less often or not at all.
Despite the bad weather in the Netherlands, a quarter of all holidaymakers still have to book a summer holiday. There will also be far fewer Dutch people going on holiday abroad this summer. This has emerged from large-scale research by NBTC-NIPO Research.
A travel organization asked Dutch people about their holiday wishes for 2013 and, not surprisingly, no less than 93% indicated that they would like a holiday with lots of sun in a nice warm place.
The Dutch opt for a different holiday: Not to Thailand?
Thailand will probably be visited by fewer Dutch people this summer, people are mainly opting for cheaper and less distant holidays.
