I finally leave for Indonesia at the end of March for two weeks with my mother and fly Jakarta – Bangkok on April 13, to make my always dreamed trip, backpacking through Thailand and Laos and on July 13 I fly back to Amsterdam. But now my worst nightmare has come true….I completely forgot to arrange my double entry visa.

A reader reported via a PM that in Nong Khai, since this year, additional proof is required for the extension of a retiree mind visa. When applying for an extension, one must now fill in a “Transfer of Pension Verification Form” if one proves one's financial means by means of an income from a pension. You must have an income of 65.000 thb per month to be eligible for a residence visa based on pension. Or 800.000 thb in the bank, or a combination of income and bank balance. But I have no savings to deposit in a Thai bank.

My preference is to apply for a Non Immigrant Visa OA. I found a lot of information about that at Thailandblog. But on the websites of the Thai embassy and on the website of the Thai consulate you can no longer find an OA visa. Only the O visa seems to still exist.

When we fly to Myanmar in Bangkok, I read that you can arrange your visa to Myanmar at the embassy in Bangkok. When you return by plane you will receive a 30-day stay/visa in Thailand. So if you do that in the last 2 weeks of your holiday, you can just stay the 60 days.

I think there are two similar visas to stay in Thailand as 50+. One concerns an annual visa, multiple entry, where the minimum monthly income is €600 and you basically have to leave the country every 9 days.
