Questioner: Johannes We had booked a flight for January next, which departed on the evening of the last day of the Visa Exemption. Now the airline (Qatar Airways) has canceled that flight and is offering an alternative 4 hours later. I so hope someone can advise me about a few hours overstay. I will arrive in BKK on 01 Oct at 13.40:31 PM. I leave on the 09.25st at 07 am from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, on to Amsterdam. I probably check in at 7:12 in the morning, so I have an overstay of 30 hours. I don't know if it would be possible to check in before 09.25 midnight on the XNUMXth but I'm afraid the check in counters for luggage etc won't be open for a XNUMXam flight then.

I am considering going to Thailand for the first time without applying for a visa and using the 45-day exemption and then applying for an extension of 30 days. Normally I went with a 60 days visa, but when booking the tickets I made a stupid mistake that left me with an overstay of 1 day.

Perhaps the following message will not be well received by everyone, but we, my Thai partner and I, deliberately exceeded the 90 days Schengen visa this time. She has been here 41 days longer than allowed. The reason is that my mother, with whom she has a very close relationship, was dying and would not live more than a month.
