For several years I have been staying in Thailand with an Elite visa. Since I traveled very regularly until 2020, there was never a need for 90 days of notifications, let alone an extension, as every entry automatically gives a year's stay. Of course I always did the TM30, a small effort since that goes online.
Today I applied for the annual extension of my stay in Thailand with Immigration in Pattaya/Jomtien. As proof of income every year I provide a letter from the bank where I have permanent 800.000 Baht for that purpose. And for the first time in four years that I've done that, I got a paper afterwards saying that in three months I have to show the Immigration Office that there is still 800.000 in the account.

On Thursday, a note was signed by the Head of Immigration that makes it possible for tourists to obtain a new extension of their stay. The duration of the extension is again 60 days, costs 1900 Baht and normally proof of residence is sufficient, but may be different locally.
