Duck hunting in Pattaya
Where are we going to eat, what, and when? Those are questions you never really have to ask yourself in Pattaya. You almost literally always and everywhere run into something that you cannot resist. However, it can happen that you get an appetite for something that is not for sale on every street corner. A few days ago I was in such a mood and nothing seemed tastier than a duck breast.
From advertising to waste (3)
After a few days, the Tuk-Tuk hadn't moved a meter from its place. According to the Guest House site it is also a bar and restaurant, so maybe I could go there for breakfast the next morning. Some pictures on Facebook looked appetizing
From advertising to waste (2)
The Tuk-Tuk continued to intrigue me. I couldn't get annoyed with it, it's too cute for that. And besides, complaining and whining won't solve anything. As with so many things: It is talked about endlessly, 'no one can do anything about it', it gets from bad to worse.
Frans Amsterdam in Phnom Penh, Cambodia (day 1)
The alarm went off at eight o'clock, after having slept less than three hours. My tilacje packed my travel bag, she could do that better than me. All chargers together, with the cables rolled up, all papers and receipts in the power pack sleeve, T-shirts rolled up tightly, just as they should be.
Honest 'Butterfly' Meets Girl From Naklua (Part 10)
On Facebook I saw pictures of the girl from Naklua. She apparently had stayed in Rayong herself. Beautiful beach, good food and a little later even a photo taken at Utapao International Airport (near Rayong).
Fair butterfly meets girl from Naklua (part 9)
The sister was right on time this time. She wore a long blue robe that reached almost to the floor. Only occasionally were the probably culturally appropriate sandals visible. This woman did not walk, she strode on, floating up the steps leading to the bar.
Fair butterfly meets girl from Naklua (Part 8)
The sister probably also had an alcohol intolerance, because she took it very easy. Very wise. I was extensively treated to photos from her native village.
Honest 'Butterfly' Meets Girl From Naklua (Part 7)
Frans plays the tourist, he is accompanied by the girl from Naklua who is married to a German and says: The excursions were great fun and it just felt nice to be with her. We talked about anything and everything. She was remarkably open, especially by Thai standards. I wanted to know how long she had known that German.
Honest 'Butterfly' Meets Girl From Naklua (Part 6)
Frans Amsterdam was totally stunned about an offer he received from the girl from Naklua who had not been married for fourteen days. What was going on? Frans explains it in his story.
Honest 'Butterfly' Meets Girl From Naklua (Part 5)
First of all, I take the opportunity to respond to a trend that I thought I saw in the responses to Part 4 among some readers. You will not hear me speak of a 'missed opportunity'. A (life) long relationship is just not for me. So I'm not looking for the 'true'.
April 16 was the last time I met the girl from Naklua. That was the third time and for a butterfly like me that is quite exceptional. There is definitely a special place in my heart reserved for someone like that.
The new taximeter rates (with calculator)
The new taximeter rates have been introduced since mid-December 2014. To be allowed to adjust the meter, the taxi must first undergo a safety inspection.
Search flight tickets to Bangkok with Google
Although there are already enough websites for flight tickets, Google Flights can still be useful, as Frans Amsterdam discovered
Investigate helmet compliance
More than tired of it I am. Prejudice, that's what I'm talking about. More specifically, of course, prejudices about Thai. There are countless. And they are shouted too often without any knowledge of the matter.
An evening at the beach
Frans Amsterdam makes a thorough plan for a visit to Pattaya beach where a grand fireworks festival is being held and that turns out to be necessary.
