Reader question: Apartment or a nice room in Jomtien

If at all possible - due to COVID of course - we would like to go back to Thailand from about mid-October until just before Christmas. We prefer to stay in Jomtien near Dongtan Beach. Is there anyone who offers or can recommend a neat apartment or a nice room for rent there for that period? I prefer a quiet location, a nice view is of course a bonus because I love the Thai sunsets so much …

Why don't you advise emigrants to just let them enter with a tourist stamp for 30 days without costs. Then extend it as soon as possible at immigration by 45 days and start the procedure that leads to an O visa (without additional insurance).

I went to immigration in Chiang Mai on February 16 to extend my married visa. So now I have to come back on April 20 for the Extension to stay. But because the air in Chiang Mai is unbearable, I went to Pattaya. Normally I do my 90 day report online. Unfortunately, that site is now down.

My experience with Thailand extends over a period of about sixteen years. Of course I know many stories about foreigners who have lost all their (savings) money in Thailand due to serious relationship problems. I also often enough hear the stories about married foreigners who misbehave in bars and restaurants.

A friend of mine rented a room in a building in Pattaya on the third floor indefinitely. He sent me pictures and it looks neat. Room has a ceiling fan, balcony and a separate toilet with shower. He pays 4.000 baht per month for this, with water and electricity that comes to just under 5.000 baht per month.
