While the oil crisis was in full swing in the Netherlands in 1973, Suthip Leela was born in Roi Et (Isaan) as the 11th child of a large Thai farming family. When she was one year old, the family moved to Kamphaen Phet, 5 hours north of Bangkok. Suthip went to school there by bicycle and also had to help with the finances at home on the land.

Normally the rainy season is quite enjoyable in Isaan. Pleasant even after months of drought. Beautiful budding nature that you almost literally see progress. And yes, at the end of June and certainly in July, the rain also falls during the day. But in a fun way: very intensive showers that fascinate and last only a short time. Then the sun comes out again for about three hours, then another shower.

I bought an apartment in Bangkok. I had the floor removed and a new PVC floor laid, the problem is that they laid the PVC floor loose on the concrete and I can now hear the generator downstairs, kind of a humming sound. I can have the floor taken out again and put something under it.
