New build house in Thailand and roof insulation
We are in discussions with the client before construction work can start. Our house (Nordic style) will have a traditional sloping roof, not a flat roof. The question now remains regarding insulation of the false ceiling and/or roof.
Ceiling insulation for my house in Ubon Ratchathani
I have a question about ceiling insulation. In this climate there must be more people with the same problem, and I hope many will share their experiences. I just moved into a new house, and what I expected has come true. During the construction of the roof, a (wafer-thin in my eyes) reflection insulation was used directly under the roof tiles. It is now November, not even the warmest period of the year, and the house is warm, very warm, especially the rooms on the 1st floor.
What is the best way to insulate a roof with steel plates?
My Thai girlfriend lives in a house with those well-known steel roof plates (available in all colors, but often blue). That makes quite a noise when it rains. Also, when the sun shines and it does quite often, it gets very hot inside and you can fry an egg on the roof. What is the best way to insulate it and with what kind of material. Replacing the entire roof is not an option.
Bonding and insulating PVC floor of condo in Bangkok
I bought an apartment in Bangkok. I had the floor removed and a new PVC floor laid, the problem is that they laid the PVC floor loose on the concrete and I can now hear the generator downstairs, kind of a humming sound. I can have the floor taken out again and put something under it.
My house in Isan is built with single brick walls. This means that the heat remains in the walls after the sun has set. How can I fix things without tearing down and rebuilding my house?
