Even though we are moving to Thailand, I will continue to 'work' in the Netherlands: I have non-location-specific work and only need a laptop, an internet connection and professional knowledge. The BV I work for (and of which I am a co-shareholder) agrees with that AS situation.

I would like to know, if you wanted to go to Thailand for 8 months, could you just keep your health insurer here in the Netherlands? Or does the Netherlands not have a treaty with Thailand regarding medical care?

I have been hospitalized for a kidney stone operation, this operation is reimbursed by the Dutch health insurance. In this operation they placed a double J stent, but it had to be removed again after 1 month, so another operation. I'm going back to the Netherlands soon for 3 weeks then I will have myself deregistered in the Netherlands. I have been in Thailand for 5 months now and have a retirement visa, age 53 and live with my girlfriend in her house. My question is what happens if I stay here for more than 8 months? What I read is that you are being unsubscribed. And you are then no longer insured in the Netherlands. But if I go back to the Netherlands later, can I just inform the health insurer again and still insure myself for the period that I am in the Netherlands or not? And register again with the municipality where I live that I will be there again for a while.

The premium for CZ's basic insurance (Zorg-op-Maatpolis) will increase by €8,55 per month, bringing it to €124,80. This is an increase of 7,4% compared to last year's premium. A premium based on the actual healthcare costs would be higher. But because of the use of € 97 million from the reserves, CZ can offer a premium that is € 2,75 per month below the cost price.

I'm going on a trip and I'm taking back: yellow fever, malaria and hepatitis. Rather not, huh. Get vaccinated and make sure you leave those contagious diseases behind at the holiday destination. Which vaccinations you need differs per country and area. What is certain is that all vaccinations come with a price tag. Fortunately, there is supplementary health insurance, with which you are often (partially) reimbursed for vaccination costs.
