After a regular clean-up of the beach, just outside Thung Wualaen Beach (Saphli-Pathiu), and this on the initiative of Noortje (already described by Lung addie in a previous article on this blog), there is again a boost in this action.
Do they really have to leave? Or does it fizzle out? Those who know Hua Hin know that from the pier the beach is built up with fish restaurants, guesthouses and houses. Many were once, in the distant past, built illegally and the authorities now want to take action against this.
Watch out for jellyfish in the sea at Jomtien
Jomtien has been suffering from a jellyfish plague for several days. Tourists are advised not to swim at Jomtien Beach anymore.
A nice place for young people to go sporty (also for the elderly). 17 Knots – Kite Surfing, Food & Sunbeds between Hua Hin and Cha am.
The first beach day after the rainy season
Last Sunday it happened again. The first beach day after the rainy season and from now on we meet every month at Dongtang Beach in Jomtien.
On your beautiful site we were looking for a nice beach location not far from Bangkok. We want to start our holiday with a few days at the beach before visiting bustling Bangkok.
I picked up hundreds or maybe thousands of shells. Very beautiful, very ugly, big, small, broken or very cool, shiny and dull shells….
A clean beach, who doesn't want that?
It all started a few months ago, the high season started with the arrival of several Dutch, Belgian, French…. tourists. Here in Chumphon province we have beautiful, endless beaches. Not yet overrun by mass tourism and therefore suitable for a nice relaxing holiday.
Reader question: Can I use a lounger on Pattaya beach?
On the beach we are only allowed to spend our well-deserved vacation days next to each other without gaps. I see that some people place chairs/clothes on the free beach in front (outside the area of the beach pavilions) my question is the following: can I now place a lounger on the "free beach part" and spend the whole day on it, or should I take into account that the police / military will forbid me?
It is a remarkable hotel, the White Sand Beach, on the north side of Hua Hin. With 14 rooms and two suites, it is charmingly located on the Gulf of Thailand, almost shy of its own small size. Especially when the temperature rises, you are sitting on roses here in the salty sea breeze, so to speak. With a view that is almost unparalleled.
Eden, the earthly paradise, I know how you get there
It's Saturday night and time for a night out. Will I go to Eden? Of course I'm going to Eden, I'm going everywhere. I have heard many stories about Eden, it must be very special. A hip party in a beautiful place, good music, with very special people who like a special trip. Well, I also like an adventure, so I won't skip this trip!
Reader question: Jomtien beach, what about umbrellas and chairs?
Does anyone know what's going to happen to Jomtien beach, in terms of sneaks and umbrellas? Now there is a ban for Wednesday, in the corridors I also heard that chairs and umbrellas are not allowed to be placed on Friday.
Landed on a tropical island: I'm up to here!
I now really doubt whether I did the right thing… Here I am, up to my neck in the sand. It's hot, very hot and my nose is itchy. As long as it's worth it... but I don't know yet... time will tell...
The vibrant beach of Pattaya (video)
There is always something to do and experience on Pattaya beach. If you like beaches where you can enjoy yourself optimally, Pattaya has a lot to offer, as this video shows.
Lex in Pattaya – day 2
A few weeks ago I asked Thailandblog for tips for my trip of (unfortunately) only 9 days to Pattaya. I have received many tips, changed my trip almost completely and was even able to make it considerably cheaper. The editors then asked me to make a report of my journey, which of course seems very nice if I experience things that are worth sharing here. That should definitely work in Pattaya!
We visit Thailand next summer in the month of August with three daughters. 6, 11 and 13 years old. While searching for tips for Thailand, I get completely overwhelmed by the many options that are available for a beautiful beach destination. I just don't remember!
Reader submission: 'People with respect'
When I read the blogs like this, I am in the wrong country, or on the wrong site. The Dutch here remain the eternal whiners, while I just find a Thailand that makes me a different person, the person I already was somewhere and couldn't find.
