Bangkok tries to keep the heart of the city dry
The municipality of Bangkok is making frantic efforts to protect the city center from flooding. The rescue must come from 17 water pumps that pump the water from the north that flows over Phahon Yothin road, Vibhavadi Rangsit road and Ratchadaphisek road (see map) into the Khlong Bang Sue towards the Chao Praya river. Water is already flowing out of that channel from sewer wells in the area.
