I am 66 years old and a sinus sufferer. I drink regularly and am also a smoker. I take medication for sinusitis, namely, pseudoephedrine zensil 9 against allergy, which I certainly do not have. Prednisolone, in Belgium I took 1 tablet per day (I have lost the name) and was rested for two to three days (I think based on cortisone. It always annoys me to walk around with a stuffy nose, because that mess that I now so don't help.
Putting 2500 syringes in a day at Hua Hin Hospital
B2-9/2. That's the lot number of my AstraZeneca syringe that penetrated my arm this morning. You read that right: I was vaccinated for free at Hua Hin Hospital, along with about 2500 others. But if my Thai partner hadn't come along, I would have gone down in paperwork.
I have had dengue can I still get Covid? And doesn't that affect a Covid test? I read that in Brazil there is a study on the relationship of this.
Ask general practitioner Maarten: Heart problems and a possible vaccination with Astra Zeneca?
Heart problems and Astra Zeneca. I am 66 years old, Drink moderately, do not smoke. Am healthy but sometimes have an accelerated heartbeat. From the age of 13 I have sometimes 1 time per year, sometimes 1 time per 2 years increased heart rate to 210 beats per minute. It is always 210. Normal heart rate is 60 to 65. It usually lasts 5 to 70 minutes with the exception of more than 2016 hours in 4. It can happen at any time, but mostly when I'm just sitting at home quietly, no efforts.
When I get up in the morning and get out of my air conditioner, I have to sneeze frequently every day, sniffle and have itchy eyes.
The vaccination chaos is getting bigger and bigger
Of course we could wait for it. After all, Murphy's Law was invented in Thailand. What can go wrong, will go wrong, especially when it comes to a coordinated approach.
The banana as a nightcap in Thailand
It happens to me that by the time I want to go to sleep I feel hungry for something to eat. Hungry? I was never allowed to use that word before, my mother: “We were hungry during the war, now you only feel like eating”. Well, have a snack then!
Question to GP Maarten: Do I have an inflamed leg?
It is now as if the leg is about to explode and the bright red skin also looks strange. I have a lot of time to think and maybe what is happening to my leg is inflammation? The leg has a history that may help with a prognosis.
Epilogue discussion medical culture
Thank you very much for all the comments on the question 'Why do Dutch doctors look down on Thai doctors?' many of which are very educational. They provide insight into what many of you expect from doctors and also the fact that good and bad doctors are a global phenomenon, as we see it in every profession.
Why do many Dutch doctors look down on Thai doctors? Most have never been to Thailand let alone had contact
with Thai doctors.
I have been taking Emconcor mitis 10mg every morning for several years, now my tablets are almost gone, my blood pressure is ok, usually 130/80 with some irregular heartbeat at times. Could I stop this Emconcor?
Question to general practitioner Maarten: The risk of infection in Thailand with regard to erysipelas
My Thai wife and I wanted to buy a house in Thailand after my retirement and stay there for about 6 months a year. Because many lymph nodes have been removed, both the edema therapist and the urologist advise against a long stay in tropical countries such as Thailand, due to the high(er) risk of infection through wounds or insect bites.
I've read Jay's story about his esophagus. I am sending you through your email confidentially my result of my examination escophago-gastro-duodenscopy which I think is the same as esophagoscopy. Before the test I had no problems with my esophagus and after the many antibiotics (I think it was really too much) my lower esophagus is bothering me. It feels like something is there and according to the internet it could be caused by the antibiotics.
My breakfast is 1 boiled chicken egg, 2 quail eggs and then rice with soy milk (warm). This morning when I started eating rice I suddenly got a feeling that the food wasn't coming into the stomach properly. So I can't eat anymore. Then mild cramping pain in my esophagus.
The Thai government is developing an English-language vaccination registration app especially for foreign residents. After registration, foreigners may report to the so-called walk-in vaccination centers and receive a free shot there.
Question to general practitioner Maarten: Urinary complaints, urgency when walking around
I have been having urinary complaints for a few months, no burning sensation, no pain. At night, depending on whether I have drunk a lot of water or soda, I have to get up around five o'clock for a pee, but if I sit for a few hours during the day there is nothing wrong, but if I walk around for a while, the pressure immediately becomes too high, that I have to pee right away.
Very painful experience this morning. Accidentally stepped on a mini scorpion. About 3 cm. Light gray in colour. I probably don't need to tell you that this is very painful under the sole of the foot. Immediately took 2 antihistamines and fifteen minutes later only 2 paracetamol against the pain. Is there anything else you should or shouldn't do?
