Large-scale meta-research commissioned by the Hersenstichting shows that a large group of Dutch people, especially women, have sleeping problems. Chronically poor sleep increases the risk of anxiety disorders, depression and dementia, and of physical disorders such as obesity, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
