The number of passengers at Thailand's six main airports has increased to such an extent that there is structurally insufficient capacity. These airports, including Suvarnabhumi and low-cost carrier hub Don Mueang, handled a total of 129 million passengers. That is 32,7 million or 33,9% more than the total design capacity of 96,5 million passengers per year.
