Soon I will move into a rental condo for 9 months in Jomtien. Can someone tell me what the current prices are for: electricity per kwh, water per m3, cable television per month, internet in the condo per month. I hear from various people that they get huge bills afterwards, hence my question, then I can judge it myself.
Do not buy a house in Thailand! But I did….
Do not buy, but rent, was always my advice to Dutch people who wanted to settle in Thailand. Unless…The risk is far too great, I have maintained for 13 years. Until now, because I bought a house and land from my Danish landlord.
I just arrived in Ayutthaya with non immigrant O visa. I can now rent a house, but the in-laws say that I cannot register at the address of the house that I can rent. Then the owner has to register us and they think that's link because they don't know us. Sister-in-law says we'd better register with her. Then she says I can just live where I want. My question is can I do this risk free? I don't want to get into trouble with immigration.

Rent a house in Thailand? Feast your eyes!

Reader question: Condo in Jomtien wanted
I recently retired and plan to stay and spend the winter in Thailand Pattaya for 3 months twice a year. So I will continue to keep my house in the Netherlands. As a result, my budget for renting a studio or condo is limited.
Advice: renting in Thailand is better than buying
My first advice after many years of Thailand: don't buy, but rent. When buying, you have to pay in cash, because farang don't get a mortgage here. You can always leave if you don't like something.
No more rental house in Thailand for me
Sjaak Schulteis and girlfriend Aom moved into a rented house twice. Twice they came into conflict with the landlord. What happened? Shake tells.
Who has an apartment (house) for rent in the period February-March 2018 for about 15 days, and wants to rent it to us. Or who knows someone who occasionally rents out their apartment house. Of course we have some wishes such as location, in the Chiang Mai area, but in such a way that we can be in the center within 15 minutes with a moped.
The pitfalls of renting an apartment were not visible to me beforehand. Now I am a lot wiser and a lot of money poorer.
I want to spend 3 months (December, January and February) with my husband in Pattaya, preferably in Naklua, but it can also be in the Pattaya area. It must be a cozy environment with restaurants and shops, so not in a remote moo job. We are looking for an apartment / house with a kitchen and at least 2 bedrooms and bathrooms, so that friends can also come and stay.
At the request of Thailandblog, Rene van Broekhuizen compiled a file about renting an apartment, detached house or house in a gated village, for which we thank you very much. He deals with the fifteen most frequently asked questions and ends with some points for attention

Reader question: Is southern Thailand twice as expensive?
At the moment I am renting an apartment in Chiang Mai with my partner. The idea is to continue to the south, Krabi eo, and rent an apartment here for three months. Now we see and hear varying stories about the south. It seems to be twice as expensive in living, transport and renting a house. Does anybody have experience with this?
