TB Immigration Info Brief 090/19 – Immigration Ubon Ratchathani – Address Notification
Went to the immi in Ubon Ratchathani today for the 90 days report. The treatment was smooth and correct. My reporting day was 5 days after returning from a trip.
The Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT) is calling on the Immigration Bureau to stop using the TM30 form. The requirement to fill in this form every time you change a place of residence causes major problems.
TB Immigration Info Letter 084/19 – Immigration Chaeng Wattana (Bangkok) – Extension / TM30/ Re-entry
Visa extension and TM30: report CheangWattana 20 August 2019. On the advice of my French colleague Charles, I had decided not to go to Immigration at a very early time. Normally I get in line (the new hose) at 08.00:15.00 and go home at about 7:9 with the desired stamp in my passport: 13.00 hours in the building, a total of 17.00 hours from home. Charles doesn't arrive until after lunch, at 4:6 PM, and goes home at about XNUMX:XNUMX PM: XNUMX hours in the building and XNUMX hours away from home. I had already decided not to go on a Monday or Friday because – in my opinion – those are the busiest days in CheangWattana.
Immigration not sensitive to complaints about TM30
The Thai Immigration Bureau does not care about the criticism of the TM30 procedure. Landlords are required to complete the form for tenants staying longer than 24 hours at a place other than their permanent address and return it within 24 hours. Those who fail to do so risk a fine of 800 to 2.000 baht.
'TM30 a shot in your own foot'
An opinion piece about the now infamous TM30 form appeared in the Bangkok Post yesterday. The writer of the article calls the form 'a shot in the foot'.
Reader Submission: Farang is solely responsible for reporting temporary residence with TM28
There is a lot to do about the form TM30: a lush discussion arose on the Thailand blog in the past 14 days, the Dutch ambassador reported in his blog that he will discuss it with colleagues, and a US expat collective organized a petition last week for the Thai authority.
Petition for reform of the Thai immigration service
A group of American expatriates has started an internet petition for immigration reform. The use of form TM30 in particular is a thorn in the side of the initiators.
July Blog Ambassador Kees Rade (10)
On the eve of my departure to the sweltering Netherlands (from the rain in the drizzle…) a short summer blog, as announced in my previous blog. Short, because you can tell from the amount of emails, visitors and meetings that the holiday season has arrived. But that does not mean that nothing is happening at all, on the contrary.
Visa for Thailand: Renew annual visas
Due to a 1500 baht fine last year for being late in reporting where I live, I prefer to be prepared now. Due to my stay in Belgium from 25/06/2019 to 21/07/2019, I wonder what I should or should not do the next day to stay okay.
NVT has researched TM30 form
The Dutch Association in Bangkok has included an article about the TM30 form in its newsletter, which is also interesting for readers of Thailandblog.
How exactly does the TM30 control work?
How exactly does the TM30 control work? I live in Bangkok, I have a non-immigrant B visa and I am currently on holiday in the Netherlands. When I return to Thailand, do I have to report to immigration within 24 hours to provide my address?
Can registration via TM 30 also be done via App?
A few days ago I read a message on the (German) Thai Ticker in Der Farang that currently in the province of Ubon Ratchathani the registration of guests etc. by landlord/landlord could also be done via an App.
Question about the TM30
I am aware that my wife has to make a TM30 report when I stay in her house. No problem, we do this by post (Bangkok) on the advice of Ronny. However, we sometimes go to the beach or the mountains for a few days and then stay in a hotel or resort. My wife then checks in with her Thai ID card and my passport is never asked for. How do I get such a slip to show in my passport for a possible check?
Further explanation about TM30?
The TM30 is clear. But what if he owns a company? Who then reports? And what if the owner lives in Belgium or the Netherlands, for example? How is the declaration arranged? Maybe with a proxy? The owner can of course also live elsewhere in Thailand. Can he also file a declaration at his own residence immigration office? (of course with the necessary documents). Or is this a gray area, but what about a possible check?
Reader Submission: Continued from TM30
Dear readers, thank you for your comments on my December 18 story about completing the TM30 form (online). Now the sequel, because I then indicated that I expected a fine because I was late with this report.
Immigration has something new again?
At the 90-day notification at immigration Ubon Ratchathani, I received 2 forms for the extension of stay in March next.
One is a TM7 that you can already fill in and the other has no number. I looked on the internet and the TM30 form looks different and asks for different information. The “new” form now asks, for example, what my wife's job is and her salary. What does her job and her salary have to do with my extension of stay? If I wasn't married, what then?
I am in Thailand for the 3rd time in 14 months. 2x for a maximum of 30 days, now for 5 months (hibernating for the first time since I retired). Only the TM30 form only came to my attention yesterday, so I didn't know anything about the obligation that the person who offers me shelter had to report this to immigration.
