Install UPS for power outages (blackouts and brownouts)
In my village in the Isan we regularly have to deal with power cuts, especially during rain and thunderstorms. We also regularly only have half the capacity. So blackouts and brownouts. I want to install a UPS that can handle these problems for a few hours. I searched the history of Thailandblog and found some advice, but when I look at Lazada I can't see the wood for the trees anymore.
Reader question: Which power generator should I buy?
During the rainy season it often happens that the power goes out here in the Isaan, so I would like to buy a generator but have no idea how many amps that thing should supply?
Isan experiences (10)
Once housed in Isaan, things happen that are sometimes less pleasant. Most of it has to do with the climate, even if you have already adapted by previously staying in Thailand in the holiday resorts or close to it. In the middle of Isan there is a tropical savannah climate. This results in more extreme phenomena than on the coasts. A real and long dry season, a much cooler period in winter, heavier short rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms and gusts of wind in summer. So a bit more of everything, including the flora and fauna.
Major blackout: 13 counties affected
Electricity was lost in parts of the North, Northeast, Central Region and Bangkok yesterday afternoon. The power outage lasted nearly an hour and was caused by a fault in the transmission cable of the Hongsa power plant in Laos.
A week of rainy season in Isaan (Friday)
Despite the Duvels, we both wake up fresh and cheerful at the same time. Happy mood too, it was fun yesterday. Only, there is no electricity. Hello, is that already from seven o'clock last night? Apparently not, the first customer in the shop tells us that the power was back around ten o'clock last night. But no one knows when it fell out again. The people here don't really lack electricity.
