Thailand question: Reserve a seat with Thai Airways?

Anyone have experience how I can reserve the seat 50A or 50K at Thai Airways? These cannot be reserved on the Thai Airways site. These are apparently very good seats on Seat Guru.
Reader question: Paying for a seat reservation with EVA Air?
I recently read that KLM will/will charge extra costs for hold baggage. Now I have booked through EVA and have to pay 27 euros extra for a seat reservation. Does this also have to do with changed flight path?
