Hua Hin small but nice
Since March 2021 I have moved from Bangkok to the smaller Hua Hin, partly due to the loss of assignments and rising costs caused by the pandemic, I was almost faced with the choice to go back to the Netherlands, then I went to see if there were still possibilities to to stay in Thailand.

The annual auction of the first keg of Hollandse Nieuwe was scheduled in the Netherlands for Thursday, June 11, 2020. Unfortunately, this beautiful and grand press event turned out to be impossible due to the crisis situation due to the corona virus.

No fewer than 33 children received a present at Say Cheese in Hua Hin on Saturday 30 November. Sinterklaas had come over from Pattaya especially for this, while the three real black Zwartepieten have their home base in Hua Hin.

See yonder the steamer arrives in Hua Hin. And he brings us Sinterklaas again, albeit in a slightly different design. Until last year in Hua Hin we were blessed with two assistant Sinterklaas, but this year one of the old bosses is absent for medical reasons.
Although a lot has changed in the way in which herring is caught, Vlaggetjesdag has continued to exist. Flag Day Scheveningen now follows the sale of the first keg of new herring. During that day there is plenty to do for young and old in and around the harbor of Scheveningen.

Finally it has come to pass. We have often talked about it with each other on our cozy terrace, but now our 14-day cycling tour through exotic Thailand from Hua Hin to Phuket is really a fact! Says Jeroen Groenewegen of Say Cheese. The cycling tour is scheduled for the last weekend of October 2017.
The herring season starts every year at the beginning of June with the traditional auction of the first keg of New Herring. From then on, the new herring is for sale and herring parties are organized in many places in the Netherlands, including at SAY CHEESE. The month of December is approaching and Sinterklaas and his Zwarte Pieten are busy preparing for his arrival in the Netherlands. Saint Nicholas has also found time to travel to Hua Hin on Saturday evening December 3.

Last night it was time: a real Brabant carnival at tropical temperatures. A colorful group, some of them dressed in the craziest outfits, populated the always cozy Say Cheese bar in Hua Hin.

Memorial to Pim Hoonhout at Say Cheese in Hua Hin
Friends and acquaintances of Pim want to gather at Say Cheese in Hua Hin to reflect on his death and say goodbye to him in an appropriate way. That happens as Pim would have liked and saw it, namely with herring and tonic. You are welcome on Tuesday November 10th on the terrace of Say Cheese (Soi 74 in Hua Hin) from 19.00 pm.
