A short report of my trip to ChiangRai where I arrived on July 25th. The preparations in the Netherlands went quite smoothly. I had a re-entry permit, but of course I still had to get a CoE. The first part of the CoE trajectory went quite smoothly.
I will soon be starting my CoE for the Phuket Sandbox. It now appears to be possible to travel beyond Koh Samui after 7 days. Does anyone know how that goes? Because if you only book a SHA hotel on Phuket for 7 days, the Thai embassy might make things difficult? Or can you indicate that in the process?
The message below was in Bangkok Post July 14. Does anyone know what the folder for “sealed routes” looks like?
Reader Submission: Statement of insurance
After intensive e-mail exchange, I finally received the following message from Member of Parliament Mrs Aukje de Vries, of the 2nd Chamber faction of the VVD.
Since July 15, fully vaccinated foreign tourists can now also go to Koh Samui. So we now have the choice of Phuket or Koh Samui? What are the benefits of using the Koh Samui sandbox, or are there none?
Koh Samui reopened today to vaccinated foreign tourists, despite the nationwide increase in Covid-19 infections in Thailand attributable to the Delta variant.
The Netherlands will probably turn red again on Friday and if it continues like this maybe dark red later. What are the consequences if you are going to apply for a CoE for Thailand? Will the Netherlands then end up on the high-risk countries of Thailand and can we forget about a CoE?
When I first read about the aforementioned possibility to obtain the required insurance statement for Thai immigration last week, I was still skeptical. However, after being reported on TB again yesterday, I became curious and asked Allianz for more information.
KLM comes with a COVID-19 document check for passengers
KLM customers traveling to a selected number of destinations can now have the necessary corona travel documents checked in advance. KLM's COVID-19 check | Upload@Home is a new service that allows the customer to travel well prepared and smoothly.
Reader question: Can I go to Koh Samui from July 15?
I, Belgian of 65, would love to go back to Koh Samui. I read that it would work from 15/7. Does anyone know if I can be helped in Belgium to obtain the necessary and correct documents in the desired order, of course for a fee?
Reader question: Is a “booking information” form by Agoda sufficient for a CoE request?
Does anyone have experience with the following with the CoE application? Is an (English) ” booking information” form sent to me by Agoda, sufficient for my CoE request (at Agoda I could choose the hotel payment option; only 2 days before check-in)?
I am Marc, a 65 year old from Belgium. Am getting everything in order or, everything is almost ready, to travel to Thailand on August 12th. To avoid a quarantine in Bangkok I opted for the Phuket Sand box arrangement. One hotel SHA+ is already booked. It is the intention that my Thai partner from Khon Kean, with whom I have been together for 10 years, will also come to Phuket to stay in the hotel together for 14 days before traveling back to Khon Kean together.
I have to book an ASQ hotel for a Thai friend from the beginning of August. Now I read on the site of the Thai embassy that you have to upload a proof of payment for the CoE certificate. Is a booking confirmation from the hotel stating payment is sufficient?
Does anyone have experience with that?
I would like to hear from people who have done the Phuket Sandbox trajectory, procedure + trip. What tips do you have for me?
After Phuket, Samui, Krabi and Phi Phi will also open (subject to change) to vaccinated tourists
After Phuket, several tourist destinations will also open to vaccinated foreign tourists, but should the number of domestic infections increase, Thailand will restrict travel to smaller islands, said Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn (Tourism and Sports).
Since May 30th I am trying to obtain a CoE through the Royal Thai Embassy in The Hague. Initially before arrival in Bangkok and 7 days of confinement, but soon converted to Phuket because of the attractive opportunity to stay in a resort in limited freedom for 14 days with trips and the transfer of my wife from Chiang Mai.
Been busy with the COE for days now. Apart from passport visas etc., they also ask for a certificate of vaccination. I was vaccinated yesterday with the Janssen vaccine, and you will receive proof of vaccination. However, this is not an official certificate, and these are currently not available in the Netherlands. I know that you don't actually need to be vaccinated at all because you always have to quarantine for 14 days. But you have to upload and send it online.
